If you are visiting Newbiggin-By-The-Sea, then this B&B is just perfect. The owner, Mary Dodds, together with her husband Bob, on arrival you are made so welcome you feel you are like 'long lost family' members!
The rooms and beds are really comfortable and clean. The food, well, it is truly scrumptious, and there is plenty of it! Nothing is too much trouble no matter what your diet may be! You dine in a wonderfully light conservatory, which is housed in a really colourful garden that is well laid out. Even the wildlife actually queue up to come into the garden!! Seriously, you are sitting eating your tasty meal while the wild birds are literally feet away feeding themselves!
The location, 20, Seaton Avenue, is about 5 minutes walk from the sea front, in a quiet side road. We found this better than staying actually on the sea front as there is always a hum or rumble of ther sea coming in etc.
Mary and Bob are a 'mind' of information, always willing to suggest places of interest no matter what your line of interest is - they will know a place or places to go! They also take an interest in your day's activity. Everyone is made welcome from a single cyclist to large families.
I have been here a number of times and I have always found something new. This is my first port of call for a holiday. The only sad part of staying here in Newbiggin to the time to leave for home.
For a truly relaxed break or fun packed holiday, together with traditional Northumberland home cooking, what could be better than staying here with Mary and Bob, you will not be disappointed.
