Two nights here as a gift from my boys. Peaceful, welcoming and glorious views made all the better with lovely weather. An ideal base to go exploring from and we will be back for sure. Thank you Graham
Had a nice relaxing break at the coach house, it’s small but very well equipped and has the most comfortable bed ever. A very nice welcome with wine, chocolates and flowers. Lots of things to do in the area. I would recommend you check your mobile network availability in the area if you need to keep in touch with the outside world lol. The only downside was the track to the cottage, not good for low cars, this could have been caused with the heavy rain in the past few weeks.
We spent four amazing days at the Coach House and experienced the peace and tranquility that this area offers. The accommodation was really well appointed and was extremely comfortable. The owners were fantastic and could not have been more welcoming or helpful.
The unspoilt area and the abundant wildlife really helped us to settle quickly into a slower pace of life. If you want a quiet getaway this is the pace for you. We loved it and can’t wait to go back!
We stayed at The Coach House over the Easter break and it was wonderful. Stunning scenery surrounded the accommodation viewed from its elevated position and yet snuggled into woodland at one side to easily view the wonders of its wildlife. The accommodation and owners are lovely. The home is well presented, super comfortable and everything you need to be self sufficient...if you choose, together with big fluffy towels and a lovely dining area to sit with a beer/ glass of wine to totally chill after a days walking/sightseeing...perfect! Local village and pubs in easy reach for stocking up. We definitely will return... thank you Graham and Jackie :)
A lovely cottage set in beautiful rural Northumberland. Wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The Coach House had everything we needed for our stay and we felt very welcome on arrival.
Would highly recommend for those looking for a countryside retreat!
My wife and I stayed at the Coach House over the Easter weekend and had an incredibly relaxing stay.
The winter weather continued and we had snow on a couple of the days, but this made the cosy atmosphere of the place even more welcoming. Well heated and well equipped, we were able to settle in with snacks and enjoy the views across the valley, to distant snow capped hills and watch the abundant birdlife visiting the various bird feeders, counting over 30 species of birds from the window over a couple of days.
The weather broke on Sunday so we headed to the coast, roughly an hour by car and spent the afternoon walking around Holy Island, there is so much to see and do in this area.
With many walks in beautiful landscapes on the doorstep of the Coach House, we look forward to visiting in another season. Certainly a place you would return to again and again, well recommended, even though we'd rather keep it a secret!
We stayed for two very cosy nights in the coach house. Graham was most welcoming. The surprise chocolate and wine that was left for us was a lovely touch! The surroundings were extraordinary, we felt at peace. Teeming with nature. Completely cut off from the world! The coach house was warm and extremely clean. The coach house was everything we wanted and needed! My only gripe - could do with a new set of bedding. We decided to stay in both nights as the weather was rather chilly. We decided against the local pub as the menu wasn’t that enticing. The local Italian in Rothbury had a limited menu and closed at 8pm.
A short drive from Alnwick, Holy Island and Newcastle made it the perfect romantic getaway for us. We will most definitely think about returning in the summertime!!
