We disembarked from a cruise in Seward. Took the bus up to Anchorage, then rented a car to drive out to Glacier View. Very, very scenic road on the way. Lots of stopping for pictures. Our goal was to hike the Mantanuska Glacier (an experience in itself) which we did, with Mica Guides (they were great! Highly recommend). On their website we found the Tundra Rose. It is an RV park with a restaurant and 3 cabins. We stayed in the two person cabin, the Tundra Rose. Beautiful view of the Glacier. Away from the RV park. Felt very secluded. The place is a larger room, with a queen bed, small kitchenette, rustic with more in-room amenities than most hotel rooms (refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, coffee beans! and grinder! dishes, plates, wine glasses, hair dryer, touring alaska books...etc.), large bathroom, wi-fi, tv , ipod dock and a cozy fireplace. In front, towards the view, is a deck with chairs. Very comfortable, pleasant and relaxing. Something about the details in this place......it shows the owners take great care.
We ate at the RV park restaurant. Great Pizzas! The menu consists of pizzas, some salads, burgers...etc.
If we ever venture back to Alaska, this time traveling only by car to explore this vast, beautiful state, I would like to stop again at the Tundra Rose. I would highly recommend.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a rustic cabin experience with extra amenities and easy access to the glacier, this is the spot.

This review is a bit late, but I can only agree with all the previous reviewers. We stayed in Glacier View cabin. Perfect little place to stay. Loved the little cafe on the property. Very simple, but that's all we wanted. Employees were all terrific.

Tundra Rose --was one of our favorites during our Alaska trip.
Not only was the view spectacular but the little touches that were provided like the fresh coffee with your own grinder topped off a wonderful stay. No question this is a place to return to.

We stopped here on our way back to Anchorage from Chicken after a week of gold panning. Unbelievable!! We stayed in the Tundra Rose Glacier View cottage, as stated "Unbelievable!". It's a small cabin with a deck view of the Matanuska glacier. Inside is as perfect as the view, a gas fireplace, kitchen with coffee beans & grinder for that fresh cup in the morning, and a comfortable queen bed and a complete bathroom. Will definitely stay there again on our next adventure to the last frontier!

Room Tip: No Fitness it wouldn't let me delete fitness center, none there.

We had a very nice stay in July. Great place to stay look no further for this remote area. Cabin was clean and looked new, with all amenities as advertised. Met the owner who was working on the property, very nice. Cabin had a great view and the only negative is that you might hear just a little travel noise form the highway during the night, but very minimal. Otherwise, perfect and totally quiet and serene. The deck is really nice for having a glass of wine with a view. This is a great property.
