When I was planning my trip to Punta del Este, I was thinking about going to a nice, well placed hotel from where to discover the town and its surroundings. La Barra seemed a nice place to be lodged as it's midway from Punta del Este and Jose Ignacio. And then, looking around, i found a hidden gem: Casa Zinc.
My instinct proved to be right. More than right: what made my trip so special was to be able to talk to Estefany and Aaron from Casa Zinc. They gave me the most valuable advice and tips to move around Punta, La Barra, Jose Ignacio...Having dinner in a cosy restaurant only known by locals, eating the best Milanesa in a butcher's shop...Things you won't find in a travel guide. I could have been a typical tourist in Punta, but , instead, i lived like a local, had a lot of fun among them and learned a lot about the town and its culture.
Not to mention that the hotel is really unique, sooo beautiful with a bygone era atmosphere: full of character and grace.
If you want to feel special, I definitely recommend it.More
