“Little gem in fabulous setting”
Reviewed 14 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We made a mistake in staying at Le Gouty...we only stayed one night! After a very short time we realised that this was the sort of place where you need to spend at least a week, such is the quality of the accommodation and the warmth of the welcome. Sadly, we were returning to our house in Morbihan with plans en route so one night it had to be. Lynda and Phil have taken great care to renovate their old farmhouse sympathetically and run their business in such a way that the impact on the environment is minimal. That does not mean basic however, far from it. The room was spacious, the view was spectacular (I haven't added a photos as the ones on the site are representative), the bed large and comfortable and the bathroom spotless with a decent sized shower. We had a small balcony with a table and chairs where we could have sat and gazed at that view for a long time but Lynda and Phil's hospitality got in the way and we were soon drinking home made aperatifs and eating a traditional meal which Lynda had prepared in her state of the art kitchen (which Phil enters at his peril!) where she also makes anythingshe can from produce grown on their land or sourced in local markets. We ate outside (it chucked it down with rain half way through but we were so chilled we couldn't be bothered to move inside and stayed under the parasol) and got some jam making tips which have been useful. We slept well (there is no noise anywhere nearby) and breakfast was simple but sufficient with some of the home made jams we'd discussed the night before. There are loads of things to do in the area, the Aveyron bills itself as the outside activity capital of France, but we didn't have time to test the claim. One thing we can say is that we will certainly return to the area at some stage in the future and we won't be looking around for somewhere to stay; we'll head straight for Le Gouty!

“Chillaxed”
Reviewed 28 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We enjoyed our time with Lynda and Phillipe so much, that we extended our stay. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived - almost like we were family.
We thoroughly 'chillaxed' in their beautiful farm house, wandering around their land, admiring the beautiful views and meeting their adopted pets - especially 'Mutt'.
Food was lovely as were the accompanying drinks, but most special was swapping stories with each other.
It was great to learn about and see the eco features they've installed.
Will definitely return.

“Fresh Air!”
Reviewed 17 April 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Well...what can one say about such a beautiful place, quiet, serene. Phil and Lynda made us both very welcome...we ate very well (my partner is vegetarian...so ask about veggy meals) with such quality supplied by local farms and Markets.
The rooms are ensuite and the beds are so comfortable...lovely and clean.
This area is also great to visit with so much to see in the area...if you like peace and quiet and a place to read a book..then this is as close as you will ever get to it!
