“Lord Sri Channakeshava”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

It is a historical temple of wonderful architecture . The pillars and the inside doom of the temple are good. The sanctum sanctorum is fine. The idol of lord Sri Channakeshava is excellent to see. You can see good lot of school children every day apart from foreign tourists. The visitors are all busy in capturing the sceneries and images carved on the temple walls.
The traffic is always busy sometimes even in the midnight, particularly on holidays.
When you are in India you must make it a point to visit this temple because what you enjoy through your external eyes reaches the inner divine eyes within you. You cannot have this wonderful and unexplainable experience else where in this world.

“Awesome place”
Reviewed 14 April 2014 via mobile

The place is very good. Very minute work on each sculpture. Bus connectivity to this place is not that great. No good hotels are there but the temple is awesome place.

“stunning”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

39 kms from Hassan. Road is in very good condition with some twists and turns and a pleasant drive. The main gopuram is now in repair condition and being decked for the Car festival. The first day (Ankurarpana) happened yesterday and the main deity (Chennakeswara) was fabulously decked.
The figurines, the various yugas, various avatars of Vishnu are a sight to behold. Also there are 48 stambhas within the temple with their own unique structure and shapes. There is a temple for Goddess Lakshmi as well.
On the right side of the temple, there is a long walkway on a slightly higher platform and there you get to see some inscriptions dating back 900 years back on some stone carvings.

“the dancing deities..”
Reviewed 29 March 2014 via mobile

Stone art.. Left, right, front & back.. And its beautiful.. A piece of art that's preserved at very few places in India.. I hear the art much better than Hampi.. Though a few may differ..

Wait around on a crispy sunny day and make your SLR do wonders when little lives are around...

Save very little time for Halebidu and scoot to Chikmaglur for the ghats..
