“Can't say No.”

My wife and I just returned from 5 nights at Lacassagne. What a stay. The best stay I have had at a B+B ever. Maider and Denise were the most delightful, charming hosts, who really made us feel right at home. It was like coming home to Mama.

We opted for dinner the first night we arrived, which was the right choice. Maider is a fabulous cook, sensitive to the regions cuisine, with out going over the top. She is a real foodie and and as such it really shows in her choice of tasteful delights she has to offer. After getting stuffed with local duck, wine, and other ingredients, we made our way to the bedroom...

This charming offering is tasteful, immaculate, and light hearted. Maider is a dog lover, and therefore pays homage to the species in the decor but in a thought through way. The Linens were a joy to nestle up in and quite frankly the bed was hard to leave once wrapped up. Bathrooms were equally to taste and very clean. Very Peaceful place.

The following morning we awoke to a full Gascony breakfast which had fresh baked treats, and the usual continental aspects. Eggs were cooked to ones preference, and George Clooney was making the coffee. (Nesspresso) Also countless homemade jams to choose from. A real treat.

Once finished with breakfast you have the option to hang out on the grounds which are lovely, or walk up to the village Larressingle. This town is amazing, and charming. Its a fun place to visit for sure.

Maider your host has been apart of the area for generations, and as such knows the area and knows both wine and Armagnac, having the famous Larressingle Armagnac as part of her family heritage. There is always some about if you fancy a glass. Maider is truly like a cool auntie that you visit from time to time with great taste in food, and culture. As she speaks at least Three languages, French (obviously), English, and Spanish. So all and all she is as good as they get in terms of hosts.

Highly recommend getting to know Bobby, the local Jack Russell. He is great fun if your a dog lover and is a great buddy during your stay. He is likely to beg no and again for food, but he is a delightful beggar. But stubborn as a mule. Both Maider and Bobby will have you in stitches, and if your lucky enough to stay at the weekend you will most likely meet Denise, who is an absolute comedian. Her wit, and sense of humour make the whole stay seem like a dream that you don't want to wake up from. And with too much of the Armagnac it is quite possible that the dream could last forever.

My favourite place in the Gers, so may see you there when we go back.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms open out on to the garden, so I would make sure to pick one on the ground flo...

We just spend 3 nights staying here and were utterly charmed. The house and rooms are superb and Maider, Denise and of course Bobby were so welcoming - guests have the run of this elegant and comfortable house. Breakfast and dinners were perfect. Evenings with good wine and an open fire. Perfect. We're searching for the right area to buy a property and were given great advice. A real gem. Would definitely return and cannot recommend this place enough.

We've recently spent 6 nights at this beautiful farmhouse, 5 minutes from Condom. It's situated in what's called the "French Tuscany", among undulating fields and charming old villages.
The rooms and private bathrooms are spacious, very comfortable and nicely decorated.
Maider and Denise were perfect hostesses. They provided us with excellent advice regarding the main spots to visit and made us feel at home from the moment we stepped into their place. We spent an unforgettable holiday thanks to them.
And as if this wasn't enough to push you into making a reservation at Lacassagne, take into account Maider is a superb cook! She'll delight you with her homemade, generous and tasteful menus at a very reasonable price.
We highly recommend this place and we're looking forward to visiting them again in the near future.

We booked two nights in this beautiful 18th Century family farmhouse. Despite declining an evening meal as we knew we would be arriving very late, our hosts were quick to offer us a delicious light supper - even though it was 9.30pm. Our room was beautifully presented and decorated. Comfortable beds. Plenty of hot water and great water pressure. Our hosts were charming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble from ideas of places to visit and catering for a semi-vegetarian. Breakfast was delicious with a selection of homemade cakes, biscuits and conserves amongst other things. Supper the following night was simple food well cooked. We are already planning to return. A genuine interest in their guests and their comfort makes this a fabulous B and B. Merci Maider and Denise. Not forgetting Bobby the dog.

We stayed with our wonderful friend Maïder Papelorey in her beautiful B&B--a superbly restored old Gascon house decorated with elegance and warmth. She is an amazing cook and uses local ingredients (many from her own kitchen garden) to bring out the finest Gascon culinary traditions.

Of course, the fun of a B&B is meeting and dining with the other guests--in our case, a German couple hoping to open their own B&B near Bordeaux and a French woman who lives in Cologne and is walking the pilgrim's parth to Compostella, as well as Maider's witty friend Denise and their adorable Jack Russell Bobby (who secretly runs the place).

Maider uses family treasures such as porcelaine, silver, glassware and family photos to add to the sense that you really are staying in a family home. Whether you are looking for a base to explore the exquisite countryside, or just want to relax in the quiet beauty of nature, La Cassagne is a hidden gem that's well worth finding!

The old saying, 'if it sounds too good to be true it probably is' DOES NOT apply here. A large and spacious place with bedrooms to match, everything is of high quality and good taste. We'd been paying around €70 with an extra €15 or so for breakfast at '2 chimney' Logis so €80 including breakfast seems like a fair comparison. It's not. Coupled with the accommodation the quality of the breakfasts puts this place definitely into the five star category.
An evening meal at €50 - for two, but including a bottle of a good local wine (Pellehaut) was also excellent.
Madame was the perfect hostess, a mine of information, and speaks good English.
Apart from 'home cooking' there Is a wide choice of restaurants in Condom about 4 km away.

Room Tip: All rooms are ground floor with French windows opening on to parkland with superb views. Any room wi...
