We went here as a group of 8, we had a drink down stairs which was relaxed although clearly busy for pub food before we moved upstairs. The menu had plenty of choice, all produce sourced locally. Starters were very tasty, there was freshly baked bread which went down a treat and a complimentary soup which was delicious. Everyone was very happy with their choice, the steak was excellent, the lamb also got great reviews, the desserts Devine we had the selection which included a range of beautiful desserts all fab. we all agreed it was excellent and a planning a return visit soon. Usual price at this standard of €50 per head including wine. It is a new build and well decorated but perhaps a bit open upstairs. Everything was spotlessly clean.

As we were staying in the Meadows B&B in Ballintogher, the owner indicated the Riverbank as a possible choice for dinner. We were delighted with what we found. The restaurant is located in the first floor of a building on top of a pub. The restaurant is nicely decorated. But the best thing is the food. We had the Lamb and the pasta du jour. The dessert (taste of Rhubarb - a mix of various desserts based on that ingredient) was also worth remembering It was absolutely perfect. The service was efficient and pleasant. We liked it so much that went back the next day. I would recommend it to anyone. It worth the drive even if you stay some distance away.

We had a meal in The Riverbank on Wednesday evening. We ate in the bar (however there is also a restaurant upstairs) with friends and got a very friendly welcome, a excellent meal and some nice Guinness. A really nice menu and value for money.....well done riverbank and keep it up,,,.

Have been over the years now a good few times...I normally get the pork belly...it is usually in the menu somewhere...it just tastes amazing and melts in your mouth....as does the fillet steak.
the food is so delicious with deep complex flavours all complementing eachother in every dish. the value for money is unbelievable.
Iv been to many a fancy expensive resturant...including the nearest ones i can think of.....Nevin maguires and the olde post inn . Both of which are much much more expensive. I can put my hand on heart and say i enjoyed Johns food more than Nevins and th Old post.
I have brought many friends and recommended it to anyone who may be staying in Sligo on holidays.breaks and iv always heard great praise back from those who visited.
THe club house bar food is unreal ...and again amazing value for the high standard of food you get. Its an insult to the food to call it bar food. Iv often been served much lower standard food in resturants for high prices.
overall everyone should eat in the riverbank and the club house...and should share the delight with friends and family ...its very very affordable and highly enjoyable.
