Really good authentic food. The view was also very good. Had the fish which was came with rice and beans, plantain and breadfruit. The home made juices were excellent.

So you walk up to what is clearly a house/ diner combo and order at her back door window. A nice lady who looks a little like Mama Odie from the Princess and the Frog cooks you an amazing fish burger. With fresh juice for drinks. And she smiles and chats and it’s really fun but very much like your granny cooked for you. She tells you not to eat outside as the bugs are too bad tonight. Hilarious.

Just got back from a week staying in the eastern districts, snorkeled every day. Never ate one meal under a roof. Ate only at small local type establishments, of which this place was a classic example. Usually popped in wearing our snorkel rash guard tops, bottoms, and booties. Good view of the sea. You can tell that pride of preparation is put into their food. This is actually their house they live in with food served out of the back kitchen window. Plenty of seating. Cook to order fish was fantastic. Food is served on plates with real silverware, which is better than their most similar competition, Captain Hermans. Captain Hermans view of the sea is better and they have more parking, but we rate Vivines as being the better of the two. Parking very limited at Vivines, consider parking on the street if you see 3 or more cars in their house parking lot. Be sure and try the pickled onions and carrots jar that sits on each table. I also want to mention that there is a BBQ place across the street under a tent which is great also. Either place is a better value and way more authentic local food than the more famous Tukka restaurant up the street.

So glad that my husband and I were talking to a local, and he recommended this place! The minced fish was delicious. We were so glad that we got to meet Vivienne. The place is so unique, and the view of the water is beautiful! At night, she turns on the lights. We will be back next year!
