We arrived at the QE II Gardens on the Sunday between Christmas and New Years to discover that the Blue Iguana Discovery Tour is every day at 11 am except on Sundays and major holidays. Initially disappointed, we decided to tour the gardens instead and to see if we could get lucky and spot some blue iguanas in the process. Well it took only about 30 seconds to see our first two, a small one and another one the size of a small dog. It turned out that not much luck was needed as we saw many at various spots throughout the gardens with the highest concentration in and around picnic areas. They seem very accustom to people and are definitely not shy, allowing one to get a good look; if you get food out, you are likely to have a visitor hovering not too far away. All four of us really enjoyed these beautiful creatures and the gardens and since the garden admission is only 10 USD per person versus 30 USD per person for the tour, my wallet is very happy that we visited on a Sunday.

Our whole group loved it from 10 years old to 70. The tour doesn't require much walking.
The iguanas are the stars, even in the short period we spent with them you could get a sense of their personalities. The program seems well run, our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the seeing the iguanas turn blue was very cool.

As a wildlife conservation professional, I can promise that this is a great experience. And your donation goes a long way to preserving the natural heritage of Cayman. This facility is a model for what a dedicated community can do to save its iconic endangered species. Plus, the blue iguanas are soooo cool.

This is a very educational tour around the breeding pens. We learnt a lot about the history and habbits of the Blue Iguana. Well worth the price, which although it is more than the admission to the QE2 gardens is well worth it because it supports this worthy cause.
