“Very tasty with a tremendous view!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014

Our third night on the East End and we decided to try Eagle Ray's. Very good food, great service and an awesome view. Don't let this small outdoor restaurant with wooden picnic tables fool you!

We started with one of their signaturee cocktails, the Nitro 4X. This thing was pretty good and worth the $10US. It has four different Caribbean rums mixed with orange juice and soda (noted as 32proof on the menu)!

My husband ordered the pasta of the day: lasagna. It was beautifully presented with greens on top; looked like it had been plated in a 5-star restaurant. He said it was very good, and he's pretty picky!

I ordered the Jerk Chicken Quesadilla and it was really good. The chicken was just spicy enough that I didn't need to add any of the extra hot sauces provided on the table. The quesadilla was served with sour cream, pico de gallo, and guacamole on the side. It also came with your choice of french fries or side salad. I selected the fries and they were excellent...crispy on the outside and soft inside, very hot!

I'm sure we'll be eating here again this week since it's on the grounds of the Compass Point Dive Resort and Ocean Frontiers Dive Shop where we are staying. They offer free delivery if you're staying at Compass Point.

“Just do it...try the lion fish tacos!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

We ate here before a snorkeling excursion. The lion fish tacos are delicious! My hubby was leery about ordering them, but then he raved about them! It is a cute place for lunch with a view!

“Great little restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2014 via mobile

Visited here after a long day of sight seeing and we weren't disappointed!
Great service, lovely little picnic style tables, food is all freshly cooked and a varied menu with some great specials!
I had the lobster claws and they were amazing, and I had lion fish tacos to start which were also great!
My only negative was the wine wasn't good cheap and watery but if you don't drink wine that won't matter! Just order beer!!!

“LOW key, Loved it.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014

It's important to note that Tukka will pick you up from your resort and bring you to Eagle Ray's. It seems like they help each other out.

First, the food was simply amazing. The lion fish taco's, lobster rolls and everything else we consumed was so flavorful and well crafted. The staff was friendly, but not over the top... just low key and relaxed.

We stayed longer then we thought we would... we just didn't want to leave the environment. My husband and I joke that we would book plane tickets to just eat dinner here again. Next time on the island we will book closer to this place!

“Nothing fancy, but doing what you do WELL”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2014

In an earlier review, I spoke about an area of George Town that had become neglected, un-loved and down at heel. The addition of a Marina and excellent restaurant has changed all that. Many years' ago, more than I care to remember, East End was a district that pretty much lived up to the 1940's description of Cayman... it was, almost, a district that 'time forgot'. Fast forward thirty years...
In the last five to ten years, the Eastern Districts have come into their own. Many visitors to our island shun the glitz and glitter of the Seven Mile Beach 'strip' and head east. They yearn for things 'as they used to be'... One reason so to do? Eagle Ray's Dive Bar and Grill.

The deck upon which this journey back in time takes me back, in my mind's eye, to the old Sunset House... back then... It sits overlooking the ocean and the dive boats that come and go... full of folk anxious to look at Cayman's most spectacular landscape... under water. The menu is seafood based, as you would expect. The staff are attentive and friendly. The ambience is 'island style', but the service is prompt and courteous... not a 'soon come' in earshot. The Lion Fish Tacos are tasty, imaginatively filled and very reasonably priced.

We will go back and sample other items on their menu... back to the future...
