“Quiet and Beautiful....as usual !”
Reviewed 20 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Another excellent week at the Morritt's Tortuga club. It's our 4th time on the East end and we love it still....
We expect the quiet beach front resort with no hassle daily. Do whatever you want , whenever you want and always feel relaxed.
We have seen the club before Ivan hit, right after it hit and now 2 more times since then. That side of the island had terrible damage to the beauty it had but it is great to see the rebuilding and slow progression of the natural beauty coming back.
The staff was EXTREMELY courteous, helpful, upgrades, etc.. to make life perfect for the week.
Jesus, all the front desk staff, David (concierge) and the wonderful bartenders from Norman, Michelle, David, Jas were all entertaining and very happy. We met a great couple from the same state that we live in and now have developed a new relationship and hope to stay in touch.
Can't say anything more could have made it better other than not having to leave so soon!

“Relaxing Vacation”

I'm a timeshare owner that traded for a week at Morritt's. The rooms need updated but they are clean. Had to call maintenance a few times but they were quick to respond. It is on a quiet beach so if you like the nightlife you won't want to stay here. It's great when the cruise ships come in because you don't see it at the East end of the island.
The staff members were great. Always helpful. We especially loved Alicia, she was a doll.
My husband dived with the Morrit's Divers on the property. All of the staff at Red Sail were funny and pleasant except for one older gentleman who seemed a bit grouchy. We only saw him a couple time so it was no big deal.
There are a lot of fees that make staying here pricey but from what I here that is a norm for this island. Local calls.$.75 each. $10 day tax for a 2 bedroom. $185 utility bill.
$80+ for their high speed internet in our room for the week. Problem is they quoted it in Cayman which was around $79. To make matters worse the Internet worked off and on. Couldn't send pictures home. Oh, and that price is per device. $3.99 each time to use the Internet in the lobby. Good time to take a break from social media and electronic communication. Lesson learned... Always ask Cayman or US currency.
Prices for drinks at the bar add up quickly. We didn't realize they were quoting us Cayman prices and not US. We figured it out when I got my final bill at checkout. Ouch. Lesson learned... ALWAYS ask Cayman or US currency.
15% gratuity added to most bills. Understand this is comparable to our 20% if it's in Cayman. ALWAYS ask Cayman or US currency.
There is a small grocery store within walking distance but it only has basics. You are better off hitting one of the bigger stores on your way to the resort. When buying groceries, count on double what you pay in the US. We packed granola bars and other snacks and we're glad we did.
If staying on the East End you will want a car. There are shuttles to different places but those are pricey as well. Renting a car for the week was about the same as one shuttle ride for 4 people.
Beaches and pools are usually not crowded and there always seemed to be plenty of chairs except at the infinity pool. You want to get there earlier. But the other pools are just as nice.
Overall it was a great week, great enough that we already book for March 2016.

The snorkeling is really great anywhere on the island. When it's windy at Morritts we have found that Cemetery Beach on the seven mile beach is always very good snorkeling! We were informed half way thru our stay that each person could check out only 1 towel. Now this might not seem like a big deal, but it was to us and everyone we encountered. Ordinarily I wouldn't care about this, but it is a tropical region and the beach chairs tend to get black spots(mold) on the sitting areas. So we always put one towel on the chair and dried off with the other. OK, still one big deal. The problem came when I turned in FOUR towels and was only given two in return I fussed and asked to have my dirty towels back, she refused and I got 3 different excuses from 3 different people. I told the manager he should have sent out a mass e-mail to owners so they could pack extra towels. He agreed and let me have 2 more. These units are very run down and in need of updating. The bed is somewhat comfortable however we never eat at the resort because the food is sub-par and the prices are very high. Would not recommend buying a time share here! Towel issue aside I have seen this place going the wrong way in my seven years of visits!

Sorry about the towel policy. They must have had lots of people take them to the beaches. I appreciate the review.

located on the east end, you need a car to enjoy the island. if arriving on a Sunday, you will want to stop at one of the very few side stores open, to pick up a few things to hold you over until Monday. YOU MAY DRINK THE WATER! we didn't, but you can. the bedroom is a queen size bed with 2 nightstands and a dresser. there is not much space to negotiate in. not a major problem. the sofa is a pull-out bed, not that we checked that out. i believe there are newer, updated units on the grounds. the unit has all necessary appliances to prepare meals, etc. there is a subway, a grocery store and a beverage shop within walking distance of the resort. restaurants are fairly scarce on the east end. we enjoyed tukkas. they provide a shuttle. eagle ray was ok. the italian kitchen was not open during our visit. therefore, you may want to purchase items for snacks or meals to have in the unit. like any resort, food and drinks are costly. you would want water shoes for the beach and/or snorkeling. wi-fi is off-on. for us, it was a very relaxing trip. apparently, the snorkeling and diving is good and can be done from the resort. other activities are on the west and north end of the island. we enjoyed the peace and quiet. the atlantis submarine tour was nice, different and enjoyable. the shops have plenty of the same touristy stuff. housekeeping and maintenance are responsive. many of the staff should recognized, i don't have all their names, matthew, montford and tracy.
