Description: The Dinghy Dock Bar is a true Caribbean dive bar. Situated on a historic marina in Oyster Pond, the bar straddles the Dutch and French line sitting over the water. It's a place where high and low, locals and tourists, rub elbows and party the night away. It was originally a place to get the rowdy drunken sailor's out of the finer establishments in the area. Sit at the bar and to hear stories told, some true and many not, from around the island and around the world. The "mix your own" happy hour is the best around. That's right, you get the bottle, glass, mixer, and make you own drink. This is also one of the best-stocked bars on the island, with the usual suspects, as well some unusual ones - even a selection of craft beers from the US for those missing a taste of home. The kitchen makes some of the best casual bar food around, lunch and dinner. You won't find better fish and chips, ribs, burgers, wings, or anything else on the menu. Daily specials vary from goat stew to jerk pork chops to blackened grouper. We open at 8am for coffee and fresh baked croissants. The kitchen opens around 11am and runs until you're stuffed. All are welcome - kids, dogs, iguanas, random dock critters, old and young people - provided, of course, they're up for a good time. Family friendly most of the day and night, late night is definitely more suited for the "big kids". You never know what will happen at this place. There is also live music every Sunday night and usually 2-3 other nights of the week. Sports fan? The game is always on at the Dinghy Dock. Whether it's NFL, NHL, NBA, Soccer, College, Pro, Olympics, you name it and we will like be watching. Stop by and yell at the tvs(that's right, more than one) with us. You are guaranteed to have a good time no matter what night you go, and once you've been there, you will be back. Maybe because you got so drunk you forgot your shoes, or maybe to do it all over again. Dinghy Dock Bar "The Peril of Oyster Pond"

“So good, so friendly!”

We went there one night and got the fish n chips which were the best We have ever had. We ended up hanging out drinking at the bar after dinner talking with Seth the owner and waiter Alan for a few hours. The next night we decided to go back again and of course, got the fish n chips for a second time. Great place, a must go!

“Best bar on the island”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

This place is a must go for any American visitors. When we got there we were greeted by our waiter/bartender Alan. We initially went for dinner but ended up staying until close. The food was great, music was great, and the service was great. When we walked in there was a sign that said on trip advisor someone wrote the fish and chips were terrible. So of course we tried it, and this was the best fish and chips ever we ever had. If you come to St Maarten come to the Dinghy Dock.

“Best fish and chips ever!”

We had a great dinner and overall experience here. Very family friendly for our two small kids (and adults acting like kids). Alain is the best! Our drinks were never empty and overall service was great. We will definitely be back!

“Great find!”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

Thanks to some good reviews on Trip Advisor, my wife and I decided to hit up the Dinghy Dock for happy hour on our honeymoon in St. Maarten.
Seth and Alain were great…and the pour-your-own drink happy hour is tremendous. I had the fish and chips (humorously advertised on a chalkboard outside of the bar as "the worst someone on trip advisor has ever had), and they were quite good. My wife had the veggie burger (quinoa-based) and loved it.
One word of warning haha….watch out if Seth offers you a free shot…it could end your night quickly!

“Great place and even better drinks!!”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

Hit this place at Happy Hour. You get given a hi ball glass with ice and the drink of your choice - then it is up to you how much you fancy. I managed a great Gordons Export Gin with just a tiny splash of tonic!! Kendall was very friendly and attentive. Definitely go here for good service, great value and lovely atmosphere!
