We spent a fortnight at the Westin Dawn Beach Hotel. It is an extremely comfortable and modern hotel, with a picturesque landscape. The rooom, with big beds, was spacious as well as the bathroom. The hotel provided us with the necessary amenities on the beach and pool area, where resting is a must. It was a pleasure to swim in the swimming-pool with a wonderful view of the sea in front. Buffet breakfas was delicious and of good quality, it was a nice moment to have relaxed breakfast in a friendly atmosphere besides the staff was always attentive or ready to fulfill any requirement. All the personnel at the hotel (front desk, concièrge, travel area, etc.) helped us efficiently. I´d like to remark the director´s attitude; he took care of every detail in order to make us enjoy our stay. I recommend this resort strongly . We enjoyed our holidays very much. Excellent hotel! Unforgetable vacation! We look forward to going back in the near future.

Great spot for a convention with all amenities, gym, spa, excellent breakfast buffet. Great if the expenses are for business. We were there for 6 nights. A car is needed and allows you to go to all beaches, explore both sides of the island and have dinners in great restaurants. At the end of the day, you can retreat in a beautiful, and not cheap, hotel room where sleep was, I will admit, divine. If, for no other reason, enjoy the Westin.

Room Tip: Ocean view, nothing less

This was one of the most beautiful resort we have visited. The staff were very kind and helpful. Our first few hours in our room, we had a couple concerns. They were resolved within minutes by competent staff members. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to an ocean view room which made this an even more relaxing vacation. The pool was surrounded by cushioned lounge chairs daily covered with fresh towels. There were ample lounges at pool side and beach side as well. The breakfast buffets were excellent. We ate there daily. My husband and I agreed that we had the best night's sleep on the Heavenly mattress Westins are known for. We are anxious to return to St. Maartin and especially the Westin Dawn Beach!

Room Tip: Any room that is ocean view or ocean side is a must. I slept with the soothing sound of waves breaking.

This hotel was very beautiful with luxury amenities and casino on site but the beach at the hotel is not so calm and water was not so nice.
For the price we paid ( we paid over $450 a night) I feel like we should have had nice beach and pool.
Location was far from everything so you would have to take a cab everywhere you go like restaurants or shopping .
Bt staff was very nice and helping.
Beachside food, ok. Drinks ,average.
Beach cabana , you need to pay over $100 to use them.

My parents, husband, and I went to St. Maarten last spring for a long weekend. We enjoyed our visit at the Westin Dawn Beach Resort. The beach and pool areas were nice and well maintained. Our king-size room had a large bathroom with full size shower and separate tub. The restaurants had great food, but they were pricey.

What we didn't know about the hotel when we booked it is that it is part of a timeshare. We were constantly accosted at the pool and in the hotel by people trying to get us to attend the timeshare presentation. That was annoying. The other thing that we didn't like is the casino that is in the lobby. The hotel allows smoking in the casino, so even if you don't go to the casino area, it is only separated by velvet ropes, the smoke travels throughout the first floor of the hotel. I have asthma, and the smoke caused me to have an asthma attack.

One thing to know about this hotel is that it is FAR from the airport. Luckily, my parents rented a car so we didn't have to pay for a taxi. We used the car to explore the island. This hotel is also far from tourist attractions.

Room Tip: Get a king size bed!
