A gorgeous little find, enjoyable place to sit, sip and nibble on a hot Saturday afternoon. Two ladies behind the bar were delightful. Cicchetti were ok, not unforgettable. Overpriced but expectant of the location. Worth the stop.

After going through the multiple side streets and wandering Venice in a “get lost” mentality, we stumbled upon this restaurant. At first, we were intrigued by the ambience and variety of food options in the glass display at the counter. Once seated, we were abruptly told house wine was not an option and only bottle service but that was ok- hey, it’s worth asking. However, the repsonse was a retort quickly given and in rude gesture. We proceeded by choosing our food- which did look good. Keep in mind, the prices in the glass display were handwritten and not clearly displayed but we looked and everything ranged from 8.50€—10€. After finishing our meal with our group (4people), we went to the counter to pay our bill. We kindly told the gentleman behind the counter that we wanted to split our bill by couple- which we had already indicated previously when we ordered. He again was clearly upset by this and informed us that we had to pay by cash because his credit card machine had not been working for 2 days. Keep In mind- 2 glasses of wine and 2 cicchetti’s came out to be a whopping $48! Whoa....Are you serious? I was taken back by the bill after seeing the prices in the glass display and knowing the price of the wine from the menu! Clearly, we were taken for and this was unacceptable! At this point, our frustration and disdain was rising as if baking with too much yeast and the bread rising beyond expectation. With no signs posted, he attempted 3 times to swipe my credit card and waving the machine in the air as if we teleported back to the 80s to signal for better reception. I almost offered tin foil to expedite the process but decided to remain calm and assess the situation as to what going to happen next. As the charades seemed to conclude and the machine decided to corporate, he successfully charges my card and we parted ways after what seemed to be a nasty divorce. Our friends were up next to experience the exact same charades and rudeness. After several swipes of the card- the gentleman behind the bar made a snarky comment stating that since their bill was only 28€ that he let him use credit card since it is typically required to use cash for anything lower. Again - no signage stating the such. After spending every summer touring Italy for many years- owners are typically very honest and transparent if such rules exist- clearly this trap is up to no good. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Venice is full of beautiful and delicious options. So go explore, get lost by taking a wrong turn and enjoy the adventure of a place who will treat their customers with respect. Arrivederci.

We are in Venice 3-4 times a year, and this is our go-to place whenever we visit the city. First and foremost, it is owned, operated an staffed by Venetians, NOT Chinese. This is a major issue in Venice, and every effort should be made to support the local economy.

Service is always friendly, the drinks are generous, and the quality of the food is astounding considering the size of the establishment. It's perfect for a lite lunch or late-night snack, and is best enjoyed after the cruise ship tourist crowds are gone and the locals come out to socialize.

Yes, this bar is expensive but the our cicchetti selection for 2 was superb; soft shelled crab, artichoke stuffed with prawns, asparagus with parma ham in batter, aubergine with anchovy, battered stockfish plus a couple of other delicacies with bread on the side. The flavours were wonderful. The crab is a short season delicacy, as we were informed by a lovely American fellow customer. We had 2 glasses of prosecco/white wine each and the bill came to 82 euros.

I hadn't asked for prices as we were in the middle of a domestic re map reading in Venice but having tasted the food it was obviously going to be high.

We had cicchetti in other bars which were cheaper and tasty but these were a revelation.

Charming, authentic Venetian caffe tucked into one of the side alleys! My husband and I highly recommend the cappuccino which is made from quality Arabica coffee beans and prepared with an Elektra coffee and espresso making machine. The Elektra machines allow artistry in the crafting of the beverages which clearly translates in this shop. Sit among history, nestle into the leather Chesterfield style benches, have a cappuccino and nibble some yummy Venetian sweet and savory snacks such as the artichoke bottoms filled with crab salad or seafood stew. Relax and enjoy the experience including sitting where the waiter and waitress advise. We've been here 3 times, once in 2003 and twice on this trip. Bon appetito!
