Visited today , caught the vaporetto from near the train station. Good value bought an all day pass , which allowed us to visit Burano as well if we felt like it.
Thought that Murano was quite touristy , although the glass pieces themselves could be quite amazing . Did manage to see a little bit of glass work being done down a side alley , and that was interesting . Seems to be something going on re Chinese glass in some shops, I guess the locals get a bit unhappy about that . Worth the visit . Just go with an open mind.

Good evening, just to inform you that Murano export glass is a shop in Venice and don't have nothing to do with the visit of the island of Murano or the show rooms that you see in that island
Thanks

Had enjoyed the visit but felt like wasted time which otherwise could spend on other amazing sites in the pkace when it is only half a day visit.

Murano glass is very beautiful and expensive. It's very nice to see a demonstration. I saw so many beautiful things. Not a very busy Island, and a lot of nice locals.

We arrived on Murano after the glass workers had gone home. The doors to the studios were open and we could see the ovens. I've seen Chihuly (Seattle, Washington) glass blowing demos on PBS. Dale Chihuly is the master and his creations cannot be compared to anything else on Earth. Lovely island, no crowds. People were packing boxes of glass items to ship abroad. Murano items were lovely. I'd love to get a box from Dale Chihuly!

I guess we were a bit disappointed too. We saw a lot of glass in Venice and expected to see something a little different. Having said that there was some beautiful things there. We also ate here and had a lovely lunch. I would spend a couple of hours here. We did buy some nice jewelry here too and we didn't find that the people were pushy as others have suggested, but we didn't go to a glass blowing factory.
