I stayed ,while cycling the Canal du Midi.
I just could not believe my good fortune.! The warmest of receptions; the loveliest of rooms;
the most intellectually interesting time at dinner ,where both owners were fully engaged in talking/listening. Food to please someone keen on French cooking . Generous in every way.
I shall definitely try to go again-next year with my wife.

Room Tip: just thank your lucky stars if you get a room... it is what civilisation should be all about

My husband and I landed up here by chance as we drove through the area and stayed two nights.
What a find! The castle itself offers a step back in time and Philippe was happy to show us around and share its history. The three rooms currently available are beautifully restored with lovely en-suite bath/shower rooms. The garden is a peaceful oasis (it was very hot when we were there) with shady spots to sit and relax.
On both nights we enjoyed dinner on the terrace with Philippe and Dominica who speak excellent english but also encouraged us to practise our rather rudimentary french! They are excellent hosts suggesting day trips, lending us a map and generally offering helpful advice.
There is no restaurant in the village and I'm not sure how far you would have to travel to find somewhere to eat if you did not take the offer of dinner with the owners- but then I would thoroughly recommend that you did just that!

Very friendly owners, lovely place and a wonderful home-cooked meal for dinner in the garden, including special vegetarian dish for our eldest daughter. Very good value and definitely recommended.

We occupied all three rooms (small, medium and large, each with state-of-the-art en-suite bathroom). All rooms are very stylish.

Our children also enjoyed the stay.

Extra plus for the vintage pinball game. My husband was quite taken with this.

The owners of the chateau provided travel tips for us. We went on a canoe ride on the river Aude, arranged by the Eaurizon company in the village, and it was a lot of fun.
