Land lady was very helpful and friendly, made you feel welcome. Rooms were basic but clean and everything you need for a short stay, we only stayed for one night so was fine. Would defiantly recommend staying here and would stay there again.

When arriving by coach at Liverpool central the taxi driver was very hesitant to take us to the banjo and as it was to far from the centre and in a rough part! Which didn't sound very good.He was saying dont go out alone!!When arriving The banjo is located on top of a pub on an estate!! At first we was a bit concerned but we didn't see or have any trouble when staying! The area looked ok, just surrounded by houses. Everyone we spoke to was very friendly.
The rooms were very clean but bring a mirror as our room only had a small one!!
Close enough in to town can was only 7 pound.. Well worth the money we paid and would stay again!

Stayed overnight with a friend to enjoy a night out and a Liverpool match! The landlady was really welcoming and knew who we were by name when we turned up. As we hadn't stayed in Liverpool before she helped us sort out a taxi (Delta, only 5pounds to the City Centre) Room was warm and comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless- amazing shower!! We were invited to use facilities in the kitchen, it was all well worth the money we paid. We'll definitely stay here again next time!

Like the previous reviews have said, do not be fooled (or worried) when you arrive!! It maybe isn't in the nicest part of liverpool but a taxi ride into town was £8!! When we arrived i was greated by the lovely landlady, who knew my name!! Great customer service!! The room was clean, bathroom nice and tidy, and we could help ourselves to toast and cereal in the morning!! I would quite happily stay again!! : )

Do not judge of first impressions!
When we arrived in bootle myself and two other girls were very nervous as the area looked extremely rough, but it was soon to see we couldn't be in a safer place. We were greeted by a lovely lady who showed us to our room.
Our room was fantastic a double bed and two singles a massive flat screen with free view so us girls could to music whilst getting ready, and that we need it but we also had a computer with internet in our room aswell.
We were a little worried with it being a communal bathroom and kitchen but it was absolulty spotless and land lady told us to help ourselfs to anything in the kitchen, and on the third floor there was a room with a bath if you didnt want a shower.
The taxi cost us 6 pound into liverpool town centre which was also excellant service as they text you the number plate and car details when they arrive.
And do not worry about noise with being above a pub because we heard nothing!
Fantastic place to stay 10 out of 10!!!!

I was travelling with a group of friends on a recent trip for a night out in Liverpool. The rooms are above a pub, in a residential area which did seem 'a bit rough' so to speak (although we didn't encounter any problems ourselves). Don't judge on first appearance though, we had a warm welcome from the owner and were shown to our room which was basic but lovely. Rooms were VERY clean, comfy beds and there were nice touches like a towel and a blanket on the bed. The communal kitchen and showers were also spotless, and looked to have been recently refurbished. We paid £20 a person, and for that price it was good value. A taxi into town costs around a fiver if you call up a firm (we used Delta) and it's right next to a train station.
