Villa Los Paraisos Bed and Breakfast
Reviewed 23 August 2012

I stayed here for a week having travelled solo from England. Elaine was so helpful with transport arrangements; train, transfers etc. and on arrival she was equally brilliant, looking after my every need. I had a very comfortable room with much needed air con and there is also a pool to cool down in. Elaine loves to cook so the food was amazing and very varied. Los Paraisos is ideally situated for exploring some of Spain's great cities, especially Seville and Cordoba.
I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights in March as a base for exploringSeville and Cordoba. We were made to feel very welcome by Elaine who is a superb cook - would highly recommend dining "at home" , beats the local competition hands down, though the nearby bar is good enough for a beer and a tapa.
Location is convenient for Seville, with the added bonuses of villa life - swimming pool and hot tub!
All in all we were very happy and would definitely stay again.

We have been to stay here twice, for our main holiday, and will go again. Cleanliness is amazing, food is fabulous and there is a great choice. Just a lovely, relaxing place where nothing is too much trouble for Elaine; a really great hostess.

Elaine is very accomodating and personable. Easy access to highway. Accessible to several cities. Ask her to make the paella with the rabbit. Its awesome. Very relaxed country side setting with a nice neighborhood restaurant within walking distance. She offers breakfast each morning with toast, muffins, cereal, etc. She loves to cook and share recipes and try different cuisine.

My husband and I stayed here in June . It was very peaceful, private and relaxing . The owner is an amazing cook , and there's an honesty bar next to the pool , so didn't want for anything
Would recommend staying here , beautiful place.

When we read the promotional information on Villa Los Paraisos, we decided it would be a good base from which we could visit Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba, and other smaller towns in the region.
The weather was a little wet, but that was not the main problem. The accommodation was very basic, a small room similar to what one could expect on a Butlins summer holiday camp. They felt like outhouses. The noise from the motorway, was also a distraction during the night. We could not sit out or dine al fresco, as the weather was wet. The TV is any of the rooms don't work, but you can get a DVD from Elaine, if you want to watch a film. The ambience was horrible: The dogs in the adjoining farm continually barked both day and night The chicken from next door wandered about in Elaine's garden depositing droppings liberally. so you needed to watch where you stepped. The rooster started crowing very early in the morning. The goats from next door along with the sheep exuded a strong unpleasant smell. As soon as we arrived we wanted to leave, but unfortunately we were committed to stay the booked 6 days. I could not get Wi-Fi connection on either My laptop or kindle. (both worked at all the other accommodation locations we stayed at in Spain.)
Elaine herself was a helpful and jolly person. Her breakfast fare was nice, but I personally did not rate the evening menu, which read better than it tasted.
This accommodation was priced at 65 euro per night. It was by far the highest price we paid for accommodation in Spain and definitely was the worst value. If it cosed 35 euros it would have been a fairer price. I cannot recommend this accommodation to anybody, and suggest you read accommodation descriptions carefully, to avoid the unpleasant surprise we had at Villa Los Paraisos

Management response:Responded 14 July 2012

In response to this review, which saddened me considerably, I feel compelled to reply:

My accommodation (see photos) is like an outhouse at a Butlins camp. With four poster beds, power showers, hairdryer and toiletries included, DVD players with flat screen TVs.Just like Butlins! My particulars do not say there is TV coverage. I have over 400 DVDs of films and TV shows for you to watch (no charge).
I worked very hard to get wi-fi for this guest and showed him I had it on my laptop but he still couldn't get a signal. Another guest also had it on his phone! I even let him use my computer, book a hotel room and print off his invoive- no charge! After he stayed I sent him an email explaining about firewalls on the system I had as I was concerned and seeked professional advice in this regard.
No-one has ever complained about noise from the two lane main road (not a motorway) which is 300 metres away. The sheep and goats of my neighbours small holding, all 6 of them, are cleaned regularly and you have to press your nose up against their fence which is outside my property, to smell them. There is dog noise, so no dispute there. But this is hunting country and everyone has dogs here.
Not my fault they had wet weather but they sat outside a lot! It wasn't that bad. They were in my smallest room (which is still charming). As soon as it was available I moved them after 2 days into my largest, most luxurious room. I personally did this while they were out and re-hung their clothes and placed toiletries for them so they were not hassled, They were so grateful at the time!! No mention of this!!
Is the chicken poo thing a joke! I keep a squeaky clean place and if they walked in the orchard, chickens are there. This is the countryside. If you don't like chickens and their adorable chicks or want to hear cockrels crowing ( which my guests adore and photograph) stay in the city or a 5 star hotel at €35 a night!!!!
Finally and with most feeling, my evening meals at €18 for 3 courses (€15 for 2 courses) are the most commented about on my websites. Forty reviews extolling the virtues of my cuisine, rooms and hospitality. Appetisers, amuse bouche, starter, main and dessert, coffee, liquers and truffles. All served with top quality wines. A great price I think! Or is that only worth €5
I gave this man's adorable partner a tapestry she admired on my wall as a gift. She cried and hugged me. What can I say. You can't please everyone and I assure you I try harder than most. It is what I live for. So you can imagine how I feel.
