“Excellent way to end our vacation to the Galapagos”
Reviewed 13 August 2013

We stayed at this hotel for the last 3 nights of our 10 day trip to the Galapagos. We loved the Iguana Crossing hotel. We had an action-packed trip so it was a great way to enjoy the last few days. We also enjoyed snorkeling and we hiked a volcano during our stay on Isabella island and found that we loved relaxing back at the hotel after our activities.

Iguana Crossing is positioned right across the street from the beach so when we had down time we enjoyed walks/runs along the beach and swimming in the ocean. There is also a path beside the hotel that leads to a turtle breeding center which we ventured to one day. The hotel also has a rooftop hottub where the staff will take drink orders so we enjoyed a beer while watching the sunset from the hottub. It was an amazing experience! We'd highly recommend spending the additional money to stay here.

Room Tip: We had an ocean view room on the main floor and thought it was great. We had a nice balcony which w...

The place is just wonderful. We had the master room (beach view with a huge balcony). On the floor above, there is a jacuzzi and a lounge area where you can sunbath or have a drink. The ground floor there is the dining room and another lounge area where you can have a coffee or a drink.
You can sleep peacefully in the hotel, no noise, no one bothers.
The staff is ready to help and friendly. They come at night to open the bed and close the curtains.
and last but not least, the food. They have a big variety of national food to chose from. I would highly recommend you to try the tuna tartar, encocado de pescado and for the sweet tooth, the volcano.

Room Tip: Master room :) (higher budget but worth it)

My family and I stayed at the hotel for a whole week. The place is fantastic, with a lounge on the rooftop and a pool with a view to the beach.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. They clean the room twice a day ( in the morning and before going to bed) . The cook is ready to make you an amazing breakfast too :) you can try the amazing tuna or calamar al ajillo or lunch or dinner . There is variety of dishes you can try ( and won't regret)
The overall stay was above average. If you get a chance to get to master room you will be amazed. The best place to stay for sure ( plus you get the chance to see iguanas crossing :) )

For her 16th birthday, my daughter got to choose a vacation to anywhere she wanted to go. She chose the Galapagos Islands for their uniqueness. After reading many reviews, she chose to stay at the Iguana Crossing hotel on Isla Isabela based on the quality of services offered - especially the tours. We had a fantastic time! The hotel was a very comfortable, friendly place to stay and the staff was both very professional and very gracious. We thoroughly enjoyed the three tours we took with Omar, the hotel's Galapagos National Park guide. He skillfully provided an up-close and personal look at the amazing diversity (plant and animal) of Isla Isabela. The hotel's location at the edge of Puerto Villamil was peacefull (not a lot of hustle and bustle right by the hotel) and convenient - everything was within easy walking distance. We especially enjoyed staying right on the beach. The food was plentiful and delicious!

Room Tip: Rooms without an ocean view are a good value - the bar, deck, and rooftop deck provide plenty of oce...

Stayed two nights at the Iguana Crossing as part of REI tour this month with my family. The facilities are modern, clean, attractive and comfortable. Meals at the restaurant were very good. The location is outstanding. My primary dissatisfaction was with a less-than-hospitable senior front desk staff member who exuded self-importance and was too engrossed in policing the lobby to attend to the comfort of guests.

Great place to stay on Isabela, with wonderful amenities. Our family of six spent 3 nights at the Iguana Crossing which was our land base on Isabela, we took hikes and day excursions all with the help of the hotel staff. We loved the Eco friendliness of the hotel and the island. The included breakfast was delicious with lots of hot options. The staff also made us a boxed lunch when we reserved a full day excursion, something we didn't expect. Our tour guide Omar was wonderfully knowledgable and definitely showed us a great time swimming with sea turtles, white tipped sharks, eagle and sting rays...we even had the opportunity to witness manta rays the size of a car.
Thank you for everything!
