“Incredible snorkeling, do not miss out!”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

This tour was so cool! Our guide was wonderful, she had so much information to share about all the wildlife and the natural processes that transform new islands like Isabela into islands with soil. We were fortunate enough to see one penguin, pretty amazing considering it wasn't the season for them. They are the only tropical penguin in the world! The land tour was awesome, we had sealions walk right up to us, and so many marine iguanas were basking. We also got to observe sharks from above. In the water, we saw a ton of turtles, lots of puffer fish and starfish, and many others. I would say this tour easily rivals the tunnels tour for about half the price and without the chance of getting boatsick.

“Not much to see”
Reviewed 7 August 2013

On the short boat ride to the island you pass by some penguins, boobies, sealions, on the island walk itself you see sharks sleeping , many see iguana.
on the snorkeling we saw turtels and mantas.
all in all not bad but no comparision with snorkeling the tunneles tour.
So if you can pay for tunneles tour, you'll se all of this above (minus penguins) and much more.

“Penguins and Sea Lions Galore”
Reviewed 7 August 2013

Shallow and warm, this beach allowed us to see sea animonies, penguins, turtles sea lions, and iguanas swimming around. It was the most crowded beach of the 8 day cruise, but still worth it.

“Marine Iguanas, Sea Lions , Sharks & Rays”
Reviewed 25 July 2013

A trip to Las Tintoreras is well worth it but make sure you line it up a few days before since the new regulations only allow 6 boats per day to visit. If you're lucky you might see a penguin on your way over and if you go in the morning you should see the local fisherman cleaning their fish and feeding the ever present birds with the parts they don't sell. The island does have a trail which limits you ability to get close to some animals since getting off the trail is forbidden...

“Bit crowded, but easy to get to”
Reviewed 22 July 2013

We visited Las Tintoreras in mid-July when the rules had just changed restricting visits to 6 boats per day. This seemed to result in somewhat crowded boats - it looked like the maximum of 16 plus guide on each. This reduced the enjoyment for me, as there were a lot of people there at the same time. The sea was also a bit rough when we visited. However, it's very accessible - just a few minutes on a boat - the associated walk is nice, with iguana and boobies, and there are sharks almost every day in the fissures. It was hilarious watching the sealions chase the sharks. Snorkeling was O.K. -the guide was a it obsessed with finding a shark (white tipped reef shark), which he did. However, snorkeling wasn't outstanding and it was a bit rushed.
