Stayed here for the first time last weekend (21st/22nd June), we had a double room (8) which was really spacious. At first we were a little concerned as the room was over the reception/bar area but we were not disturbed at all. Nice TV in the room, small fridge with complimentary water, Pepsi, a couple of small beers and some chocolate. Bath/shower area was nice size too. Food was excellent with a great selection, we have dinner one night in the hotel. Breakfast was good too with choices of cooked breakfasts plus loads of cereals/pastries/fruit juices etc.

Staff were very attentive. We didn't try the spa area but will do so next time.

We plan to go back to explore the surrounding area some more!

Had not stayed here for four years and the hotel bedrooms were still superb and not looking
"tired". They were spotless and ten out of ten to housekeeping staff. The room was hot during the unusual June temperatures but that could not be helped as the U.K. is not known for having air con in the rooms other than city hotels. The owners are "hands on" which is always nice to see. Food very good. The gardens are kept extremely well and very pretty. Lots of nice walks around there and if you have a dog, like us, the local Country Park is great for walking them. We were very lucky with the hot weather and sitting outside sipping drinks before dinner (and after!) was a bonus. Will definitely not leave it another four years before we
visit again.

This was our first stay at Lanes and it was absolutely brilliant. My wife and I were visiting from Canada and thought that the facilities were top notch. The grounds are superbly kept and the room we had was extremely comfortable and clean. We were too busy to make time for a spa visit but we were told by others that the spa treatments were very good. The food in the restaurant was very tasty and when the weather is keeping you in, afternoon tea is excellent. The staff were all exceptional, all in all Lanes has a lot to offer for business travellers and vacationers alike and when we are back in the area again Lanes will be where we stay!

This was our fourth visit to Lanes and will not be our last. It has a small spa which is lovely and the rooms have all you need, lovely fluffy towels, bottles of water and quality bedding. Dinner was very nice and good value. The hotel has a great bar and beautiful grounds to wander around.

This is a lovely hotel on the A30, so great as a stop off point for Cornwall, enabling you to visit the nearby National Trust properties. The staff are very friendly, polite and accommodating. The food is great too. Highly recommend this hotel. The ground floor rooms in the spa block have a patio door and small table and chairs outside, so great if you have a dog. Lovely extra's like a fridge in your room complete with complementary peanuts, chocolate treat and water, juice and beer. It is a lovely touch. We took my elderly mum this time and the meat was definitely melt in the mouth as she was able to eat every scrap and loves this hotel too.

Room Tip: The downstairs spa rooms have a patio door.

This is not my 1st review of The Lanes, but having had yet another great stay I felt the need to again say what a great hotel this is!

As always the rooms were immaculate and the service was with a smile. We stayed 2 nights with friends on Dinner B&B and the food was great!

Would recommend to anyone looking for a quality stay at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: All rooms are great - but for a special treat try room 1!

The Lanes is a top quality hotel, whether you are staying for business or pleasure. As you arrive you can see the grounds and the buildings are immaculate, the staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, and the facilities are excellent. They have managed to successfully combine some old-world charm with modern effectiveness. The rooms are all large with great bathrooms, the public areas are well presented and comfortable.

The food is excellent. From the wide breakfast choice to an impeccable restaurant menu, there is something for everyone here. Good choice, well presented and top quality food and service.

It is literally a couple of miles from Yeovil in a delightful English village, with good access to the coast or anywhere else via the A303. The period I stayed there, the rooms were the same price as a nearby Premier Travel Inn. So the choice was English grandeur in a country setting or a "box and bed" convenience hotel for the same or similar price - it was an easy choice.

My colleague was "upgraded" to the Penthouse which was a wonderful top attic room that covered the entire top floor. A little quirky with tapering walls and low ceilings but fabulously equipped with stunning views over the village. As a first time visit to England from the USA, she could not have had a better introduction to the warmth, welcome and hospitality thanks to the staff of the Lanes Hotel.

It can't be beaten in the Yeovil area.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent - check if the Penthouse is available
