Due to adverse weather we were delayed and phoned ahead to apologise that we would be later than the 9pm check-in time.
I was informed that we would not be booked in and there was no negotiation.
Thank goodness for airbnb where we found a lovely couple who booked us in last minute and waited up for us.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else

When you made you're booking you asked for check in at 22:00 and I messaged you back straight away stateing our last check in time is 21:00, we have this as our latest check in as courtesy to our guests and to check all residents are settled into their room before the business closes for the evening. You clearly wanted a later check in and should of checked in the area where you could of made that type of booking.

We we made very welcome on our visit today. Our dogs were greeted with a treat and we enjoyed our lunch of steak and ale pie which was very tasty. There is a lovely garden at the back for warmer days.

Stayed here for one night for a local wedding and I was very impressed with the pub. Accommodation was beautiful decorated, light and airy. We ate before we went to the wedding and the food was brilliant too! My partner had steak that was cooked to perfection and the portions were massive! Drinks very reasonably priced too. The landlord was very friendly and helped us book taxis to the venue we were going to. Nothing was too much trouble.

Unfortunately we overslept (didn't see the 10am check out! Oops!) but the staff were were very understanding! Sorry again and Thank you!

Breakfast is pre ordered and comes in a cute little hamper that's delivered to your room and There was a jar of fudge to nibble in the room- very nice touch! The tea and coffee table is more extensive than most 4* hotels I've stayed in... cuppa soup, tea, coffee and hot chocolate, again it's the little touches here that make it worth the visit!

I would recommend this pub to eat/drink or stay to anyone, and should we be back in this area again we will be certainly staying!
