Owner description: Walk NZ’s longest swingbridge before taking part in a range of activities from high speed flying-fox rides and jet boating to more leisurely strolls along the Faultline loop walk to view some of the site’s fascinating geological and historical features. The loop walk, for instance, encompasses the famous White’s Creek Faultine, - epicentre of the 1929 Murchison earthquake, where the ground rose 4.5m (15ft), historical goldworkings and the chance to look for gold on the river banks. The flying fox is suitable for all ages whilst the jetboating is one of the best runs in NZ.

We stopped in and actually spent 3-4 hours having fun. A pre-planned trip, over the swing bridge (not as scary as I thought), gold panning lesson for the kids then off down to the river to get ourselves some gold (no nuggets but a few shiny flakes), & back over on the comet ride.

The comet ride was great, pretty quick & a bit daunting when you are picking up a lot of speed when the end is in sight & you wonder how you are going to stop! A brilliant braking system did the trick & it was quite exhilarating & enjoyable for both the old & young.

The staff were really friendly & helpful & laid back. Nothing was a problem. We were lucky with nice weather & that helped heaps.

A great place to explore, space to have a picnic. We hardly scratched the surface too - so you could make a good day of it.

Having stopped here (not for the first time), being a local - we enjoyed ourselves so much, we spent 2 whole hours here. While 2 hours seemed a long time, my advice - talk to the staff, they are so knowledgeable about history, area etc and the entertainment factor was one of the best days that I have experienced in a very long time. ALL the staff at this experience enjoy their job, enjoy their patrons - this is too good an opportunity to just "drive by".

This New Zealand's longest swing bridge and its 17 metres high above the canyon. Its quite scary walking across the bridge, but the zip wire back across if you have the mettle to it, is fantastic. (just doesn't last long enough) Make sure your partner goes to the other side to take photos my hubby only got the back of me. You can also do white water rafting from here.

took the advice of Lonely Planet as they claimed this was one of the better NZ jet boat rides. This our 4th ride and it was the best value for money - $95 adults and $50 kids. we were on the water for about 80minutes with plenty of fast bits and 360 degree spins and some opportunity for taking photo's. Mark, our pilot, was very friendly and good at engaging everyone in the trip and was also knowledgeable about the area.
The entry price includes the high level walk across the longest wing bridge in NZ - you have to cross this to get to the jet boat.
We got the high speed zip wire back, which was good but overpriced at $30 each for a 3 minute ride.
The 75min drive across to Buller Gorge from Westport goes through some really nice scenery but there are no cafe's en route (none open) and there is only very limited food and drink available at the gorge. Consequently we went from 9am till 4pm with nothing to eat!
If you are on the jet boat- be prepared for a soaking - even though you are given life vests to wear.

Had previously done a jet boat ride in Queenstown and said I'd give the Murchison one a go too.... And the latter was so much better!! Cheaper, goes on for longer and is just a much more personal experience. Our driver Mark was great and full of interesting info. He even stopped to take pics of us on the boat on our own camera, whereas as the queenstown one charges for pics!
Really enjoyed the ride would definately go back
