“Beautiful food in a beautiful setting”

The homemade mushroom soup was just lovely. We sat outside enjoying the lovely grounds on a lovely sunny day. Very nice looking sweet selection as well. Enjoyed hearing the native birds in the forest. Recommended stop.

“A wonderful relaxing spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2013

I love to stop off at Forester's. The owner is very welcoming and accommodating. The food is fresh, wholesome and tasty.
It is a great meeting place, half way between Blenheim and Nelson.
Best thing is no cell phone cover so socialising is very intimate and not interrupted by intrusive phone use.
The owner's parents also live and work there and are such lovely people. I have checked out the motel units several times - they are beautiful in a gorgeous setting.
I am working on managing a stay long enough to not only enjoy their food but to stop over a night or two ;-)

“Fresh, tasty, generous and helpful”

The food was a delightful surprise, and our host was both gracious and helpful. If you on this highway and ready for a meal, do stop at Foresters' Cafe.

“Suprise on the road”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 February 2013

We were meeting friends from Nelson so an hours drive from Blenheim seemed like a good place to have lunch and chat. The bonus was we could take our dogs so we stayed outside and ate under the trees. The meals were lovely and the price was reasonable so we will probably be back.

“Another hidden gem.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 January 2013

While we are staying three nights as a base for Nelson-Havelock surrounds, this little place is well located on the road 20mins from Havelock and 40mins from Nelson, but once you turn in you are no where near the road. Started with drinks on the deck overlooking the lovely surrounds with the forest and hills backdrop-perfect setting, followed by a perfect steak, then a brownie dessert to die for. This is a small family restaurant with good home made menu choices and service but best to book. Onsite accommodation as well.
