Most enjoyable stay, personalised, excellent service from the owners and staff. Picturesque setting from the rooms with views of the sea and beautifull country side. The lodge is close enough to towns but also isolated enough to totally unwined and enjoy this lovely quiet, peaceful part of South Africa whilst living in luxury. We enjoyed a dune safari which gave us views of the 250 hectares of the eco-reserve which has been restored to its original and natural state with the most beautifull fynbos in the area. Our dune safari finnished with a lunch on the lodges deck on their private beach. The restaurant catering was excellent, all meals were well thought out and could be served in the best restaurants. We will most definately be visiting this paradise again.

The ultimate retreat for total tranquility and peace of mind with exceptional pampering from the professional and friendly staff. They will always try to accomodate you in every way and to fulfill your every need. The variety of accomodation caters for individual needs. The eco-reserve is most certainly one of the most best kept secrets of South Africa and most certainly in the world. The private 3km beach is certainly the most beautiful we have ever expierenced. Your vacation will never be boring seeing that with horseriding on the beach, dunetrips with picnics, cocktails on the highest dunes with stunning views, sunsets to remember and hiking trails are just a few of the wonderful things Oyster Bay Lodge has to offer. Don't miss out on this wonderful expierience.

We had a very pleasant stay. The total concept of the accommodation makes our stay unforgettable. The private beach is very beautiful (we were totally alone, the surrounding is amazing, soft sand beach). We remember the treatment of the staff: From the beginning till the end they give us a feeling to be a welcome guest. The real holiday feeling you find here!

we came to spend 4 days. Fantastic place, to rest but bad hospitality and non professional people
it was fun to see that if you have a chalet you can have water in your fridge if you have a single room you have to fullfill the fridge. You are not allowed to have water !!!!
There was a lot of flies, but nothing in the room to prevent that .
never ask something to the the people there , for example to organise a pic nic, on the beach , they will refuse.
Food, not good , too complicate . It can be so easy to make good simple food .
this place can be so fantastic , it is a pity

We stayed one night in the rooms, which were quite pleasant albeit a bit stuffy. Hans, the 'managing director' gave us a warm but quite stern welcome, clearly laying out the 'rules'...dinner time, where to park the car etc. For R200 per head, I have to say the set dinner was shocking.....and to call it a five course meal, is politely dishonest. (unless you call a button mushroom with a drop of pesto on it, served in a spoon a course!!!) When my husband and I left, we stopped in Humansdorp for a light lunch (we were not going to risk the food there again!!!).....as we got out the car my husband noticed the key to our room. Immediately we called Hans, who very rudely told my husband he would HAVE to bring it back!!! To our amusement he was quite insistent.........the only reason we called, was to arrange a place for him to collect it in Humansdorp.........we could have just it tossed it out the car. Maybe we should have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
