Villa Nikh (pronounced Nikki) is everything the website promises it will be: An affordable, comfortable Greek island holiday experience. My husband and I stayed upstairs in unit 3 and woke every morning to spectacular views of the Aegean. My son stayed downstairs in unit 1 and slept so deeply that we almost had to wrestle him out of bed each morning. Guesthouse manager Jane and owner / host Fiona were unobtrusively on-hand whenever we needed them. They provided useful see and do tips and thoughtful unexpected touches to make our trip especially memorable. The open plan lodgings are spacious with clean en suite bathrooms. Each self-catering unit includes white cotton linen, a comfortable mattress and pillows, obligatory mosquito netting, a ceiling fan, and air conditioning. The kitchenettes really are fully equipped – preparing meals is a hassle-free pleasure. Food of course is as much part of Greek heritage as the Parthenon. We ate breakfast on our verandah, some dinners in the lovely barbecue area in the garden and frequented the “blue chair” tavernas on the island. With more than 64 beaches, Skiathos itself is a beach vacation dream.
