“Really restful, relaxed and restorative - not to be missed!”

Highly recommended! We stayed for 3 nights over May bank holiday weekend. The Orchid Room was beautiful with a lovely comfy king-sized bed with top quality Egyptian cotton bedding and a great en-suite power shower. The breakfasts were excellent: a huge choice - as much or as little as you like, with all organic produce, prepared to order. The Sunday evening roast dinner was stupendous - absolutely delicious, with no less than 7 - yes 7 different vegetables in abundance; the beef and the almond and parsnip loaf were both excellent, enjoyed in beautiful surroundings, with good company, in front of the ancient inglenook fireplace and wood burner. But what really made our stay was the warm welcome and attentive service provided by Duncan and his lovely family; we could not have asked for more and will definitely try to come back before too long! Thank you for a really restful, relaxed and restorative few days.

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful. Clover is ground floor if mobility is an issue. Orchid is elegant and roma...

What a fantastic place.Stayed at the beginning of May and Duncan could not do enough for us.
His cooking, wine and beer selections were wonderful, all very reasonably priced. Restaurant quality too!! The downstairs Clover room was marvellous .Open fire , organic bed !! En suite with a Jacuzzi bath and a great powerful shower. Luxury. One of the best breaks I've had. Highly recommend

Stayed for 4 nights at beginning of May. In the middle of nowhere (single track country roads!) but central to most touristy destinations in Devon/Cornwall. Stayed in Orchid which was a lovely big room with a very comfy bed and very powerful shower! The B&B has been renovated beautifully and tastefully, complete with lots of lovely Denby pottery. Duncan was a delightful host, as was Reuben! Duncan's cooking skills are fab. We ate our evening meal there twice and had breakfast everyday - the best breakfast both of us have had! Can;t recommend the food enough. Thanks for a lovely stay.

If you want somewhere off the beaten track with five star facilities then this is the place to come. We stayed here for four nights and we were made most welcome by Duncan Jane Reuben and Marley. Nothing was too much trouble. If you want to guarantee a 1st class meal then Duncan is the man to look after you. We had some great meals here including fantastic breakfasts try the omelettes. This property is so beautiful and Duncan & Jane have lovingly restored Hay Meadow farm to such a high standard. We stayed in the clover room absolutely beautiful complete with its own wood burner. Wonderful shower in the ensuite. We were privileged enough to see all of the rooms all done to the same high standard. Don't hesitate book now while you can we can guarantee you will be so well looked after. Thanks again Duncan Jane Reuben & Marley and the team we all had such a great time.

Just returned from 4 luxurious, cosy nights at Hay Meadow farm. Dreamy location far from main roads. A warm welcome. Delicious breakfast - best porridge I've ever had. Definitely worth ordering dinner too - home cooked, organic and local based products predominate. A great base for exploring North Cornwall coast, or North Devon coast, or northern Dartmoor. Super-comfy beds with luxury, organic duvets and real darkness meant a great night's sleep every night. This is a 13th century cottage with all the character you could hope for. Six footers may have to duck but what a privilege to stay there. We hope to be back.

Room Tip: If you can't manage wonky stairs, ask for the ground floor bedroom (which also, I believe) has a...

I don't know where to start! If you're looking to get away in an idyllic setting, enjoy the idea of sleeping in a thatched cottage that has been loving restored with the best materials, love a comfortable bed, and enjoy a breakfast that has been thoughtfully sourced and expertly cooked, then I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Hay Meadow Farm really does set an entirely new standard of excellence.

Also, go to Bude and have dinner in the Life's a Beach Bistro. The food was outstanding.

It was my girlfriends birthday on Good Friday, so we decided to stop off for a night cap in Holsworthy on the way to an Easter weekend in Cornwall. It was quite a distance from where we were travelling from, so the Hay Meadow Farm seemed ideal. Duncan helped me plan the whole evening, from pre-arranged chocolates and flowers in the room we were staying in (so cosy and charming), to a superb home-cooked meal (the steak and accompanying chips, salad, mushrooms, beef tomatoes, etc are serious in size and in taste!), followed by a surprise birthday cake.

A humble host and beautiful setting. It was one of our more memorable B&B experiences ever. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Book in advance for a choice of room.
