“Always a relaxing stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2013

The host BJ is always friendly to us. We've stayed there so often she always greets us by name. We stay here after going to the Rosebud Dinner Theater rather then driving home yet that night. We have never had a noise problem with other guests and that we appreciate. The breakfast is always so good. The Rosebud Country Inn has always been good to us...and that's why we keep going back! The host BJ even called us between visits to check if we were affected by the recent flooding in Calgary...a very personal touch. :-)

Room Tip: rooms on the east side get the morning sun which is so nice!

We read many outstanding reviews of this inn on TripAdvisor, and while we enjoyed our stay I would not go so far as to say that it was worthy of a 4 or 5. There were many nice touches such as the little take-away kit of toiletry products, the spacious accommodations, the coffee brought to the room, and the friendly hosts.

However, the food was good but not amazing and the decor was a mixed bag: some lovely antiques mixed with some furniture that seemed more reminiscent of an '80s suburban interpretation of "country charm". The bathroom was quite dated and the fixtures leaked. There was a veranda outside our room with a view of the fields, but it was not private (as we discovered) and really not very well cared for. The website makes it seem like it is set off in a field by itself, but it is actually in town. It was fine overall, and a good place to stay for one or two nights as we did, but not a destination on its own.

We spent 3 delightful days at the Rosebud Country Inn and enjoyed it very much! The Inn is such a nice, friendly, and welcoming place. We really enjoyed the coffee (which was delivered to our room a half our before breakfast), the delicious breakfasts served in the sunny, spacious, and inviting dining room, and the little extras like the gift bag and the turn-down service at night. Our room was very quiet and comfortable. We also enjoyed the pie and coffee we had at the Pie Shoppe one afternoon. The staff works hard to make guests feel comfortable and pampered.

Rosebud is a surprising little community! There is so much talent in such a small place! We enjoyed a wonderful performance at each of the theaters in town. The meal before the dinner theater and a lunch we purchased in town were both excellent. The shops are fun places to browse. We also enjoyed a round of golf at the nearby course, a tour at the Atlas Mines near Drumheller, and an outdoor theatrical performance in the town of Drumheller. On Sunday we attended church in Rosebud. In this town of 100 people we participated in a worship service which included a harpist, flutist, and a viola player, all of whom were amazingly talented.

The Rosebud Country Inn is a special place and we would love to return for another visit!

Room Tip: Room number 2 was large, comfortable, and included a spa tub.

nestled in a valley surrounded by fields of canola you will find this charming inn. From the welcome when we first arrived to checkout we were treated like family. The rooms are lovely and the little extras set this place apart from other inns we have stayed at. There is a lovely lounge where you can enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine(you bring your own) or a delicious piece of one of thier homemade pies-yummy!! There was a balcony off of our room where we could also sit and enjoy watching birds or horses in the adjoining field.
We walked from the inn to town which is only a stone's throw and enjoyed the heritage walk and then went to dinner and theatre.
Before breakfast the next morning coffee was brought to our room to enjoy while we were getting ready.Breakfast was delicious and it was nice getting to chat with the owner and the staff who also were the performers in the play we saw.
We were two couples who are already planning to make a visit here an annual event!
It is also close to Drumheller if you are looking for daytime activities.

Room Tip: Every room is wonderful. If you want a jacuzzi tub we stayed in room 2

My husband and I spent a wonderful afternoon and night in Rosebud. We found the staff to be very accommodating. We arrived a bit early and the room wasn't quite ready yet but the person at the front desk asked if we would like to leave our bags in the room and come back a bit later or go up to the lounge area to wait. We did neither but went for a walk through the village stopping in at the 2 gift shops, the fascinating local museum and following the self-guided walking tour of the historic sites. It was a very pleasant couple of hours. When we came back the room was ready and what a cozy room it was with a queen bed and twin bed, nice bathrobes and super nice toiletries. The shared balcony with adirondak chairs off the room looked out over the stunning rolling green hills. A terrific place to have our morning coffee which was delivered to the room on our request. This is NOT a bustling village (population ~100) by any stretch of the imagination so I have no idea why a previous commentor complained about being in between an industial (huh?) and residential area. There is a railway track at the bottom of the huge property but it is completely overgrown with no chance that a train will come rumbling through town. Breakfast was more than adequate and they were very good at handling my need for a gluten-free meal. I can't recommend Rosebud Country Inn enough and if you really want to add to the experience go to a live theatre production and have a piece of pie and ice cream delivered to your room for an after theatre treat.

Room Tip: Our room was at the front facing away from the village. If you needed a second room, the one which...

The country inn and theatre experience could not have been any better! We booked for my birthday several months before and all of our expectations were exceeded!

The inn is located on the edge of the village with wonderful views and is SO quiet! (We live on an acreage and we know quiet!)

The service is top class, the rooms are delightful and SO clean, the little touches are the best and the food for breakfast was absolutely right!

We will be going back - several times a year for the theatre productions (and top-class buffet supper) and we will be staying at the Rosebud Country Inn without a doubt!

A BIG thank you to all those people who made our stay so memorable.

(We do NOT understand the previous review on here - in NO way does it reflect our experience this weekend. Is the reviewer sure that he / she was at the same Inn or even in the same province? There is no "commercial" development any where near the Inn and the village railway lines were decommissioned many years ago! Very strange!)

Room Tip: We stayed in Room #1 with a splendid king-sized bed, wonderful antique furniture and a wonderful vie...

We were planning to stay at the Rosebud Country Inn during a trip to Drumheller and the surrounding area. The inn was not what we expected.

First, the website makes it look as if in the inn is in a quiet, country location. It is actually crammed between residential and commercial buildings right in the town and overlooks the railroad tracks.

Although clean, our room was decorated like a suite in a senior citizen's residence, complete with two pale pink rocking recliners. Our room also backed onto the kitchen and was extremely noisy during the kitchen's service hours.

The inn staff were reasonably pleasant when we arrived but did not take our noise concerns seriously, telling us that it would only be noisy when the kitchen was in use. In an inn that offers breakfast from early in the morning, and is open all day for the cafe, this was not an acceptable answer.

We cut our stay short and would never stay at the inn again.
