“Beautiful, relaxing, cozy retreat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2012

We LOVED Love Grove!

Even though it is a little apartment attached to the owners place, it felt like they weren't there. Actually I also felt safer knowing that they were close by if we needed them too. Both owners were so friendly and helpful - they really made us feel welcome. There were more than enough breakfast supplies and lots of lovely little touches, port, local mineral water, soft cozy bathrobes etc.

It was about 40 mins drive to Cradle Mountain which was a little bit far (mostly because we were excited to get out there) but at the same time it was a good location for driving out to other places (Stanley, Launceston) - so over all - location was perfect.

The whole apartment was impeccably cleaned and well cared for - every dish was cleaned perfectly even the oven was spotless (this is so hard to find in these little B&B's). There was a good CD & DVD collection and easy to use TV/Stereo/DVD system. The kitchen was really nice to use and the bathroom was great - especially the spa after a day hiking at Cradle Mountain. The laundry was fantastic too.

There were only 2 small issues we had:

It rained heavily almost every night of our stay and having a tin roof meant it sounded like it was hailing rocks and made it very difficult to sleep. I guess we aren't used to that but it made our stay a little tiring. For the 1 night that it didn't rain - it was a fantastic restful sleep.

There are 2 heaters in the place which are both good heaters, however - in the depths of winter when we stayed - we were grateful to have the cozy throw rug in the lounge room to snuggle under because the heaters were just enough to keep us from being really cold. Coming from Sydney, we aren't used to that type of cold - so maybe it would be fine for most people.

Overall - a fantastic beautiful place that we would definitely stay at again.

Thanks!!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are sorry to hear you was a bit cold. So we have now installed a cosy wood heater.

Well appointed self contained attached cabin deep in valley in the mountains of tasmania. We used it as a base for trips to cradle mountain. Often misted in it may for interesting driving but the unit itself was warm and the spa came in handy after long walks at cradle mountain. The local kitten was cute and cuddly and did great commando crawls. Breakfast supplies weren't adequate for three days but I am sure if you asked you would get more.

The setting is beautiful and quiet. Everything we needed was there, plus lovely additions we weren't expecting - from the furnishings and well-equipped kitchen to the breakfast hamper and the port. Tania and John were the perfect hosts and went out of their way to help us out with a lift up to Cradle Mountain. This would be a perfect place to stay before tackling the Overland Track. We'd definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Love Grove is a studio, so perfect for couples or close friends.

This place is beautiful. The customer service is absolutely fantastic and the owners have remarkable attention to detail. We were impressed with the beautiful furnishings and comfy extras that we were met with. There were no end to the lovely touches, including comfy bathrobes, candles next to the spa, free port and an extremely generous breakfast hamper so we could get up and have breakfast in total privacy.

We came to Love Grove for our honeymoon, and also arrived on my birthday... We ordered champagne as well as a fruit and cheese platter which were beautifully presented, as if done professionally. The entire 3 nights that we were at Love Grove were perfect, we were very impressed.

We had a wonderful week end at Love Grove !!! We were looking for a relaxing, quiet and secluded place to spend a romantic week end away from the crowd and noise, away from all those touristy resorts and Love Grove proved to be the PERFECT ROMANTIC getaway !!! What a wonderful surprise it was to find fresh eggs, bacon, orange juice, bread, jams... waiting for us in the kitchen, as well as nice candles in the bathroom and comfie bath robes ! Just PERFECT!!!! Tania and John perfect hosts as well, giving as great tips about the local wildlife and the Cradle Mountain walks! We will certainly go back there !!!!

Beautiful spot, but was dissapointed that it was attatched to the owners prooperty, didnt feel very private, we were expecting to be able to have a fun girls night away but turned out we had a bad accident and had to leave, we took a couple of towels and a blanket for personal reasons and have been harrassed by the owners ever since, , we have paid for theses items but did not feel the owners are supporting our decision at all, so over all this was a terrible holiday. ////// jo goff

Room Tip: accommodation closer to cradle mountain is way more beautiful and more well worth the trip. hazardes...

Do not ever let Jo Goss book your accomodation. These girls stole, defrauded and threatend when we asked them to pay for the items they had stolen. Love Grove is known for going out of its way to help people in need. They were a bunch of girls looking for a troubled weekend alcohled and drugged up. The name says it all, Perth Rebels

We only spent one night at Love Grove, and it wasn't long enough! We stayed there this May with our two children, teenager and toddler and it was perfect. We only met Tania, and she was extremely welcoming and friendly. The special little touches that have been added to Love Grove make it well worth the visit... from the soft comfortable linen & bedding, to the complimentary breakfast and port!!! Right down to the candles laid out by the spa. As much as it was cute and secluded, it was also extremely spacious for the four of us. I can highly recommend it to couples as I believe it would be perfect for a romantic getaway and I hope that my husband and I can return and experience this as well! Well done!! My only request is another heater in the bathroom... coming from the Gold Coast we feel the cold. The rest of the cottage was very warm & toasty! Thanks for a wonderful stay and all the best with the new cottage!
