“Leopard Kloof Trail”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

Brilliant walk to the waterfall - in shade most of the way. 50 minutes up, 45 minutes back. Plenty of water crossings and ladders which made the walk interesting. Easy walk for our 8 year old son.
Lovely gardens too!

“Do not waste your time to stop off here”
Reviewed 25 April 2014

This was a complete waste of time - we were charged full entrance fee but half the garden was not accessable, the nursery was closed, the curio shop did not exist anymore and the office staff was already going home, long before closing time (we saw them driving home in an official vehicle). The grass was soggy and other than the few paved areas, one could not go anywhere. Upon complaining we were told that a flood seven months ago had caused damage, but nothing had been repaired yet.

In a country with nine official languages, not to mention foreign visitors, the information is provided only in one language - what a sorry state of affairs. The cherry on top was the expensive yet mediocre restaurant.

“Ridiculous management”
Reviewed 6 April 2014 via mobile

After spending a lovely day at the gardens last weekend my husband forgot his camera at the restaurant which the staff very kindly kept. Fetching it this morning, we asked at the entrance if we could just collect the camera and support the restaurant for a coffee and breakfast, but we are not willing to pay R40 entrance for a coffee. We were turned away. Whenever we have visitors, we support the gardens, but with so many tourist attractions, you will not see us again. An annual loss to you of approximately R2000.00 as we always eat. This is what I call ridiculous management

“Love the Gardens but Red Disa Restaurant is dreadful!”
Reviewed 25 March 2014

We are regular visitors to Betty's Bay and we usually pop into the Gardens while there. Unfortunately the flood damage means some of the nicest walks are not accessible now (March 2014), but I hope will soon be restored.

This last weekend when we visited, we stopped ay the Red Disa restaurant in the Gardens at the end of the visit and left very quickly - the service was slow (it took a waitron about 10 minutes to get to us, even though it wasn't very full) and the food is completely over-priced. R35 for a child's ice cream cone?? We've eaten there before and always found the service to be bad, it to be poorly stocked and the food to be mediocre. Not worth a visit.
