You can get tired of the view, simply amazing. Rooms are decent, but bathrooms could use renovation. Really nice breakfast, but dinner could be more sophisticated. Inhotim, 35km away, is a world class museum/park. A bit expensive.

Comfortable chalets set in a spectacular setting. It is true that Inhotim is 35 km (1 hour) away, and the hotel is certainly not adequate for handicapped people, but the rooms are nice (the view is really amazing!), the breakfast is good, and the restaurant is very good and at very reasonable prices (noting that, as the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, it is very convenient that its restaurant be good). Service is friendly enough, but certainly not warm as would be expected in such a small and costly hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms share the same view. The cheaper ones are apparently located downhill, and have the advant...

This was a great place to stay for Inhotim and just chilling out for a couple of days. Our 3 year old loved the pool and rocky paths to the chalet and restaurant (but kids under 3 who were walking might be a bit of a worry). Staff were lovely with our boys and very helpful (provided extra logs straight away, made porridge for our son in the morning...). The breakfast was the best we had in Minas and we had some good food in the evenings and particularly appreciated the reasonable wine list (compared to Rio). Our bill was spot on and as others have mentioned the views quite breath taking (particularly early in the morning when the 3 month old baby wakes you up!) Only complaint is our shower pressure was weak if you wanted the water hot.

The place is beautiful, the rooms comfortable. Clearly someone has invested a lot of money, thought and effort designing, bulding and furnishing the place. The only request I´d make is that the hotel sign out front is only visible to cars coming downhill. We were driving uphill and missed it. The service is friendly but totally incompetent. The waiter turns around and walks away before you finish your request. And obviously brings you something you did not request. The directions they give are impossible to follow. Making a reservation was a chore as the person who answers the phone (one number rings with no answer, the other is constantly busy) is not the person who deals with the emails, and they don´t talk to each other! The result is one person tells you they have a room for you, the other tells you they´re fully booked! The end result is it took us two weeks to get an unambiguous reply to our request for a reservation! Even checking out is difficult (and by this time we were quite prepared for it). So if you come, (and come to Inhotim you must, as it´s the most phenomenal open-air museum), bring a good GPS (the Estalagem is quite visible on Google Earth, so get the coordinates; the map on their website is worthless), and be patient with the people. This is the best place to stay although quite pricey, and 40 km away from Inhotim.

Room Tip: There are three price ranges. For just a couple, go for rhe midrange rooms.

The views of the hotel are amazing, we got there around sunset, and it was simply unbelievable. The hotel itself is far from spectacular. It is an OK hotel, with fair food, but it is not close to Inhotim. It took us around 40 minutes to get there. I wonder if it would not be better to stay in Belo Horizonte in the meantime (until they have nicer hotels closer to Inhotim)

Great location, comfortable and cozy chalets, uncredible location. The staff is very friendly, the food excellent, and the ceramic studio has beautiful pieces for sale. I highly recommend this getaway.
