We are an Israeli family very used to hiking and traveling and Israel. We have all it takes to compare Kibbutz Nir-David to many other vacation rentals in the area and in the country.
In many ways it meets the standard of highest quality vacation rentals in Israel - with big , rich and excellent breakfast and a comfortable cabins (we were 5 persons and found our cabin very roomy,
It had a nice hot tub - which is often found in high end Israeli vacation rentals).
It is more expensive than other similar places - but has four huge extras:
1. The river just at the foot of the cabins - where you can fish all you like and canoe (about 1/2 a mile part of it).
2. Free access to the Kangaroos park - a must see for the kids.
3. Significant discounts at the nearest best restaurants.
4. BBQ area is far enough from the cabins so you don't need to suffer from your neighbour's one...

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for the cabins closer to the river.

Located near Bet She'an.
Tel Amal (modern day Kibbutz Nir David), an exact replica of the first Stockade and Tower settlement, from 1936.
Nice hospitality, 2-rooms wood houses with Jacuzzi and BBQ-area, Tel Amal River with fishing and canoes, breakfast on the river, sport center with indoor pool, sauna and gym, the great "Layla Seder" (Passover Dinner) with all people from Kibbutz.
Outside of Bet She'an, beyond Mt. Gilboa, is Kibbutz Hefzibah, which has on its grounds the 6th Century Beit Alpha synagogue with mosaic floor showing the 12 signs of the Zodiac with their names written in Hebrew and Aramaic. A charming Japanese garden is located on the highest point in Kibbutz, close to the cliffs of Mt.Gilboa, and is open to the public.
Nearby is Gan Garoo, a park devoted to the plants and animals of Australia.
The Tel Amal River traverses the length of the Gan Ha-shlosha National Park. Since its water is 28 degrees centigrade summer and winter, visitors can swim in the river year-round. The water collects in a natural pool.
What a nice time in Kibbutz we spent!

The Bungalows are not too fancy but allows a family to enjoy a unique experience staying at a lodge with all the necessary amenities including a Jacuzzi.
The Kibbutz is absolutely beautiful with a clean and lucid river with fishes that you can catch (you can rent fishhooks at the reception...)
Overall very nice, definitely will recommend it for families with children

The "holiday village" part of the kibbutz is quite lovely, manicured walks and adorable bungalows, with ensuite jacuzzi and a fun loft area for kids. A pleasant walk to the morning breakfast which was wonderful, plentiful, and fresh. Extra bonus for bread for the kids to feed to ducks and fish in the river while grownups finish their coffee. The pool was fine, a rare indoors one you can use in winter, though clear on the other side of the kibbutz. Altogether an excellent choice if you have a reason to be in this part of the country or just want to get off the beaten path.

I have been a big fan of Nir david for some years now. I have stayed in numerous trimmers (about 5) and nobody can even compare to them. I was a bit hesitant as I usually tend to think that commercialized properties would not be kept up well and a trimmer in someones back yard would be nicer, and how wrong I was. Nir david has always been spotless clean reasonably priced and in pretty good location if you have a car! It is right next to the the Gan Garoo zoo and the Sachna (a hot water springs or mini lake) where you get admission off with proof of your stay in Nir David. (you also get 10% in many local restaurants with proof of your stay)The area is beautiful as the trimmer is on a beautiful kibbutz where they have this gorgeous (green color) stream or mini lake that runs thru the entire property. They also have a sport complex which is free of charge and includes a supper large indoor pool and gym. We love to come her every year and wake up early to jog along the stream thru the kibbutz (where the residents have small mini fruit trees along the trails and beautiful parrots outdoors) to the sports complex go for a swim and on back to a large dining room along the stream to a scrumptious super large israeli breakfast. (for the kids they always bring out the scraps of bread to feed the fish, where its an amazing sight to practically se hundreds of fish jump out of the water to fight over the bread). I believe they offer bbq equipment for those that want to bbq outside.

Room Tip: I must add that if your a tourist on a foreign passport do not book online rather email them because...
