This beautiful old house is embued with romantic charm, looking out over its garden to the upper reaches of the Hokianga Harbour. Diane and Ross are most welcoming helpful hosts. The three little dogs are cute companions. The bedrooms are delightfully decorated to accentuate the charm of the building. There are four guest bedrooms on the upper floor which all share one small bathroom. On the ground floor there is another guest bedroom with its own French window access to the garden and also with its own pretty en-suite bathroom. The one drawback with our bedrooms was the window covering. There were pretty lace curtains but no blinds or curtains to block out bright moonlight or early morning light. Dinner was pleasant straightforward home cooking. Breakfast here does not usually include a cooked breakfast but as we did not want Diane's muesli she kindly cooked eggs fresh from their own hens. However, I would expect a cooked breakfast to be a standard offering in a bed and breakfast guest house of this style. But it was a lovely friendly stopover.
