Well worth a visit although a tad expensive ! Very clean and lovely spacious room - the only let down was the lounge area - difficult to understand the drab colours and layout - not in keeping with the history of the building. Lovely friendly staff and delicious food

Room Tip: Chose The Yoxford Room - the biggest roll top bath you have ever seen!

We really enjoyed our one night stay here with dinner and breakfast included in our voucher deal. Crisp, clean linen, comfortable bed, delightful, friendly staff, superb dinner. The belly pork dish must not be missed, its the best I've ever tasted. This country house is a real gem in a very pretty village.

A group of 14 of us stayed here for a family reunion and, because we wanted rooms near each other and had some specific meal request, we asked a lot from the staff and management team to accomidate us: they were excellent! They re-arranged several rooms, created some wonderful variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals, had a special desert made for our big dinner, and couldn't have been more helpful in general. The rooms were clean and spacious; a bit quirky due to the age of the building, but that was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. The entire place is a good example of how an old house, or several old buildings, can be made to work well. The wifi was good in all the places we tried, and there is plenty of parking in the front and along side the hotel. The food in the restaurant was way above average both in quality and choice; breakfast was served in a light and airy room, and was excellent and typical of a good English country hotel. We stayed in the older section of the hotel but the owners of the hotel (also the mangers) have invested a lot in rooms and ground improvements, all of which have made the choice of rooms and food better than you'd expect from a small-ish, one-off rural hotel. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Awful wet windy journey bridge closed but a lovely welcome awaiting us, and because of all the rain I did wonder if the garden pods would feel damp at all , but no worries they're very well insulated and so warm and cosy in fact I turned the heating off as soon as we arrived it wasn't needed. The food at the restaurant is very good , and it is no bother that we asked to see both menus one being the inc meal options plus the normal restaurant menu so we could pick from either and we were happy to pay the supplement.Gavin a lovely man , has been a member of staff for many years , always serves us well and has a very good eye , always looking ahead to what people may or may not want, he is an asset to the owners . Breakfast really is excellent .The service and standards are consistent , it can only be due to continued hard work by both the owners Kevin and David and their staff, so refreshing to see ...always look forward to a break here.

Room Tip: Having stayed at both the main house and garden pods we have enjoyed both ,I would say if you want c...

My wife and I stayed here Fri 7th Feb 2014. From the moment we stepped inside we were greeted and made to feel very welcome. Our room was excellent, very clean and comfortable. The waiting staff in the restaurant were attentive and helpul. The food was very good and the presentation excellent. The wine list was small but adequate (we had a rather delicious Pouilly Fume which was averagely priced). Breakfast in the morning was of a high standard (my wife enjoyed somked salmon on scrambled eggs).

Well worth a visit.

Just stayed in Satis House, a beautiful boutique hotel, with lovely food. Thoroughly enjoyed pre- dinner drinks in their elegant bar, was very impressed by dinner and had a comfortable night in a beautifully designed room. Breakfast cooked from obviously high quality produce to finish off a lovely stay. Will definitely return.
