I had not been bowling for years when I took my granddaughter to the bowling alley in Tolworth, which quite a few years ago was known as Charrington Bowl - now part of the Holloywood bowl chain. Nothing much had changed ! even the carpets looked the same, saying that nothing needed to, you go there to bowl and thats what we did. Did not have to wait long, the staff were very helpful. The main change we noticed is and this is progress is that when children bowl there are now bars that come up automatically to help the ball reach the skittles, they used to be large plastic tubes that had to be placed in the gulleys each time. The whole expereince was very relaxing, the children really enjoyed it - one game is enough for a 4 year old with 10 goes of two bowls each time. There is food avaliable, not a great chocie for healthy eaters. There are also penny machines and other amusements which obviously the kids loved and are to be avoided if possible !. There was a couple of parties going on whilst we were there and they looked well organised and the price is very resonable per head. There is a car park, bit tight but there were spaces, any free parking is a bonus these days. Would go again, perfect for a rainy day.
