We had a lovely time staying at The Castaway its well positioned to see Camber, Rye and lots of other beautiful areas in Sussex and Kent. The Castaway was very clean, well equipped and comfortable a real home from home. The check in/out process is seamless and Carolin was very helpful and quick to respond to the couple of questions I had beforehand. The few very minor things I would comment slightly in the negative are that the blind in the twin room lets in all the light, I slept in there and was awake most mornings before 6am and the bathroom could do with a shelf or small cupboard to put toiletries on. Like I say only very minor things and they would definitely not put me off booking again. I have already given the details to friends and colleagues. A really great time was had at The Castaway
In recent years we have stayed in holiday caravan rentals. But being in a house is so much more comfortable and easier to stay in. The house is a good sized two bedroom house with big bedrooms. And a very short walk from the amazing camber sands beach. Our two young boys 2 and 5 really enjoyed our holiday! Would recommend to others!
We had a lovely stay here! The house was a great size for the four of us. Our girls , aged 6 and 3, liked their bedroom and basket of toys. It was a very short walk to the beach and fun to play in the dunes. There’s a friendly pub and cafe close by as well. Thanks Carolin!
Lovely very clean and modern cottage - perfect for a small family.
Not one single issues with accommodation - except for.... dun dun dun, wifi would have been nice mainly to upload my photos to the cloud to give me more memory for more photos ! And maybe a BBQ But otherwise literally everything you need was available - location was next to the beach which again was amazing. Don't go in via entrance D tho it's literally a climb over a dune which was like climbing a mountain - literally. Lots of fun and giggles tho !!!
However very limited amenities in the area. 2 restaurants in walking distance, one wasn't serving food as it was "out of season" .... #july and the other was fully booked due to first come first served policy goes to their resident guests.
Hastings was a short drive away - worth a day trip !
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property, every detail had been thought through. A very lovely house.
A very short walk to the beach, highly recommended. We would definitely look to visit again.
We stayed 3 nights and had a wonderful stay. Carolin the host was very accommodating allowing us to check in early and check out late. Upon checkin Carolin left us a lovely pack of cookies that were delicious. The house has all you need including travel cot, wind breaker for beach, nice wine glasses (very important) and great pack of information all about the area. We enjoyed early evening drinks and food at the Gallivant, highly recommend. The last day we visited Chapel Down vineyard for lunch. I would recommend visiting if you haven't before. Food and wine great.
