“Great day out”
Reviewed 26 August 2014 via mobile

This is a must if you are ever in the area! The time and skills required to maintain these houses, all part of Our British history is amazing.
This place runs entirely on fund raising and charitable donations and is just breathtaking in the location of the Sussex downs. I have been many times as a teen then with my own family, I cannot recommend this enough! A great day out!!

“Great day out :)”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

Warm day when we visited. Lots of open space for children to run free. Lots picnic area. Refreshments available or take your own. Impressive historic (re) buildings. Information boards for adults to share with children that are interested. Interactive workshops if sufficient volunteers available. Children's outdoor games of times past. Animals to see, shire horses, geese, ducks, pigs and piglets. Feel a visit in autumn will be worth it. Boots and coats would be needed then, unless we have a heatwave :) thoroughly enjoyed our day.

“Fun, informative and interesting family day out”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

We visited with our young family and relatives, and all enjoyed our time here. We spent about 5 hours here and there was lots to see and do. Lots of very old houses to explore, kids loved all the space they had to run around, and they had a booklet with items to look for throughout the museum grounds which kept them busy! Very interesting for adults too, with lots of interactive things for everyone to try, such as laying roof tiles on an old style roof, brick laying etc. We took a picnic, as there is lots of open space and picnic tables to use for lunch. We later visited the small cafe and got a piece of cake and a drink later on. A different kind of day out, we will visit again.

“Well worth the visit”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

Great day out. Lots of open space for the children. Interactive old fashioned games too. Impressive (re) buildings of great historic interest. Some working workshops, guess this depends on volunteers available for the demonstrations. Geese, Ducks, Pigs and piglets and Shire Horses to see . Lots of information available for adults who would pass on to the children that are interested. Wish I lived closer I would volunteer to help. Come on you locals!!
Refreshments available or take your own, lots of picnic area and tables. Our day was quite warm but can see an autumn visit happening, with boots and coats. Looking forward to that.
All in all good value, very enjoyable day out. :)

“Brilliant day out”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

Perfect day out , lots to see, the buildings are amazing, very knowledgeable staff.
Great hands on building room, showing how to tile a roof, build an arch etc, I enjoyed this just as much as my son, fantastic grounds, would recommend to anyone young or old... only downfall was the refreshments £3.50 for a sandwich which was inedible ... take your own if possible as lots of areas for picnics . 5 and 1/2 hours flew by....
