We stayed for one night to attend a function downstairs so it was very convenient for us. Not much parking but you are able to park on the road if necessary. You check in over the bar which was not a problem. It is a bit interesting to have to go back outside into car park and back upstairs to your room. There is no access at all from your room to the hotel or function room - you have to go outside. That is the problem with the older places that have been done up. Slightly rabbit warren feel to it. Our room was at the front with a great view over the water. The room itself was very clean and tidy and our bed was also clean and comfortable. Bathroom was small but did the job. There was the normal coffee and so-on there - also some cereal for breakfast. Trying to pay for the room in the morning was interesting as the staff were only just coming in and had to unlock the doors to let us in and find a staff member that could take payment so perhaps just pay when checking in? Esp if you want to leave early (ie before 9.00) All in all a pleasant stay just for the convenience of going to the function downstairs. Basic, clean and tidy, We did think it was a little expensive at $130 on a Sat night.

Room Tip: Room 9 had a great outlook over the water but no balcony.

The location of Pippi's was good for us as we were visiting family at Booragul. But the rest was disappointing. Reception was over the bar in the pub area and was served in between drinks. Not shown where to go but directed outside and up a long flight of stairs through the accommodation entrance above the pub area and not short stroll to our room. The room was small but it did have a balcony where you could smoke if needed. Windows not closing properly which allowed noise of the main road out the front to creep in. Bed was hard but not bad but only had sheets on it and I had to look around in a cupboard for blankets to put on the bed. The shower was terrible. Hot tap on full and a little cold made you freeze. It is as if they are not trying as they probably make more money down stairs than up. Price was more than I wanted to pay but if you shop around on Bookings or Wotif you can get a better deal than offered over the phone, and I booked two rooms. Food at the bistro was ok, pizza, pasta, seafood & steak etc. it was a pub and TAB so if you like that then the dinning was fine but don't expect much from the rooms. We won't be back.

the Staff are very nice but the Chef is not....For anyone with dietry needs don't bother...He is not willing to change something as easy as Rocket leaves to mixed salad leaves in the chicken salad...Really how hard is it to put a handful of mixed salad instead of a handful of rocket....But no he would not do this....will not go back again.........

Firstly the staff, the hotel with it's great view and the restaurant with it's enormous meal were great. But the accommodation was lacking with only a double bed and the noise from the Karaoke downstairs was way too noisy. Also if you are going to call yourself "boutique" you need to live up to this and there was nothing boutique about the accommodation and for $120 there was no value for money either.

We stayed two nights over the weekend in four rooms. Breakfast was provided and we were driven to our party and picked up by a friendly shuttle driver provided by the hotel. We ate in the restaurant which had plenty of choice and was reasonably priced. Drinks on the deck as the sun set was a highlight.Everything was clean and well maintained.

Room Tip: We all had a lake view room which was lovely.

Yes, we knew that the boutique accommodation that Pippi's offered was above the pub. We were told that the rooms were sound proofed and to an extent, this was true. However, the noise from drunken patrons on the street, shattered this reality. Also, the amount of traffic and the noise it generated, further detracted from any hopes of a peaceful stay.

Lake Macquarie is a nice spot and some good walks are on offer but this area is quite heavily populated, so one needs to be prepared for that fact. There are some great cafe's and restaurants in the area - which are preferable to dining at Pippi's, I'm afraid.

We stayed for 2 nights, Rooms were clean and tidy. we did get a blanket out of the cupboard one night that looked a little bit soiled but this was replaced the next day. The balcony was nice but the traffic was a little noisy when having breakfast. We had a couple of nice walks along the lake.
