Friendly welcome with directions when our Satnav failed us! Comfy rooms, clean and modern shower rooms, lovely food with varied menus for dinner and breakfast. Couldn't really fault it though Wifi reception was a bit iffy? Plenty of parking. Would certainly revisit as it's well located close to the coast.

We had a splendid room (Oak) which was large, comfortable and warm. Everything worked (though the t.v. could have been bigger in such a large room i.e. it was a long way from the bed).
That apart, we had a good night and would definitely return.

Room Tip: Oak is a very large room.

We spent one night at the Two Sawyers in a very comfortable, spacious room. The pub has great atmosphere and is nicely furnished. The meals were excellent with a good choice and great quality, and the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. There was a little noise from the bar below, but this wasn't so loud as to disturb us and didn't go late into the night. We will recommend it to others and hope to return at some stage.

A family lunch at this quaint pub was a very good day. Although the weather was poor and we could not ake advantage of the outdoor seating we enjoyed the atmosphere inside - mind your heads as you walk - and the menu was extensive.
The food was served impeccably and included a huge platter of vegetables for all to share.
If you are in the area do try it out

Room Tip: we only used the pub restaurant side

Me and my mum were recently booked in to stay here for two nights. The food was ok, we ate with some friends and out of our group most of the meals were dry and nothing special. It was quite pleasant to sit inside and have a drink but that was about it.
The B&B rooms are lovely and spacious and clean, HOWEVER, do not expect much sleep. The locals get very drunk and loud until the early hours, in which you can hear every word and movement, as well as music playing throughout. After quietly and politely asking the manager in the morning if the noise was a nightly thing, we returned that evening to hostility and sarcastic comments being passed around as if we weren't there. The locals and regulars were mostly horrendously rude, confrontational and abusive towards us, even though we had simply asked a question.
After being completely ridiculed, we returned to our room, packed, and left the Two Sawyers without staying for the second night. As paying guests you are not respected and I wouldn't stay here again for love nor money.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

Caravanning nearby and had the ten minute walk to this beautifully located country pub. We got the best of all worlds, spacious "green" beer garden, clean patio area and quaint small rooms inside. According to the landlord the pub had just experienced its busiest time ever, yet all ran smoothly. We enjoyed starters and mains sat outside. They were served promptly and with a smile.
We visited several times (mainly to access the wi-fi) and each time we were greeted courteously, efficiently and most importantly with a genuine smile.
It was a great pleasure to drink at the Two Sawyers.

Our visit to the TWO SAWYERS was a lovely experience, warm friendly, excellent food both breakfast and evening dinner in the restaurant. We were lucky also to be there when "STEVE SINATRA" was singing, he was the best Sinatra cover we had ever heard!, especially the song;
THE SUMMER WIND" well done Steve hope we will see you again mate. The Pub is well placed for beautiful Hastings, well worth a visit, also the lovely historic village BATTLE and many more.
A big thank you to Mark and his wonderful staff, Dee, Naddy, Jess, and Charie, not forgetting Brenda who cleaned our room ( well done). and to who I have not mentioned, thank and well done to you too, we will certainly visit again. Merv & Kath x
