We chose a room facing the lake and we wished we had booked an additional day to spend it on the balcony enjoying the sun and the view. The area offers so much if you enjoy hiking, swimming, canoeing, but also climbing or sightseeing that you can enjoy some rest laying on the beach chairs on the terrace!
The room was clean, not too roomy but adequate, There is an elevator.
We decided to add breakfast, and it was an excellent choice: fresh croissants, ample choice of both salty and sweet food, local jams, fresh bread and toasts

Room tip: Definitely choose a lake view room!

Main reason for staying here is the lake view, so would highly recommend getting room with lake view. Room was simple, and adequate for our short stay. Breakfast was croissants, ham, juice, coffee, tea, selection of yogurts, hard boiled eggs (if I recall correctly). Nice to eat breakfast while enjoying the lake view. Walking distance to two beach areas that rent pedalo, kayak, canoes, which we enjoyed. Also walking distance to restaurants, shop, sandwich shops, and small grocery store in Les Salles There is a bar(?) that is part of the hotel where you can order fruit smoothies and they sell ice cream there also, as well as buy bottled water and soda.

Room tip: lake view a must

We had the room with a big balcony facing the lake-very promising for having a glass of wine while enjoying the sunset. The location is nice both in respect to the lake at dining places. The breakfast is a bit plain for its 12 EUR per person-but the pastry is very tasty indeed. The terrase for breakfast is another place for relaxation and meditation. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

We just got back from a long weekend at the Auberge des Salles in the Gorge du Verdon area. We had an absolutely wonderful time. We have 2 kids (8 and 5 yo) and stayed in a family room, which was clean and comfortable and plenty big enough for all of us. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a wonderful location -- you can easily walk to 2 different lake beaches, where there are plenty of things to do (swimming, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, fishing) and you can rent Hobie cats, sailboards, stand-up paddleboards, canoes, kayaks, and pedal-os. Our kids had a great time trying out these different activities. We also rented an electric boat and went up the gorge (but you have to drive 5 minutes out of Les Salles). At the end of each day, we enjoyed a cold drink on the hotel patio with truly spectacular views. There are also plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Anyway, I highly recommend this place.

Room tip: ask for lake view
