Myself and my partner loved this place and didn’t want to leave. The resort is beautiful, beach stunning and lovely rooms. The staff are incredible and are so friendly and accommodating. Great for snorkelling and water sports. Not much going on in the evenings but we were happy just to have a quiet drink and relax.More

We were staying on the island at their sister lodge, Gayana Marine Resort, and came to Bunga Raya Island Resort every day to swim and snorkel. The beach is beautiful here (there isn't really one at Gayana) and the snorkeling is much better. There is only one restaurant that offers vegetarian food, but we did enjoy what we could get. Like Gayana, Bunga Raya food and drinks are pricey. Really nice spot to visit though - next time we come to Gaya Island we will be staying here!

We have stayed in the Bunga Raya resort on July 11-14. Though the resort was lovely, room (view) was beautiful and breakfast was a treat, we have experienced a TERRIBLE service in the aftermath of our booking.
While paying online in advance, when we arrived at the resort we were told that the payment was not received and we needed to pay again. After our credit card bill came this month, it turned out that we HAD paid in advance - and now being stuck with a double payment.
First of all, it is very hard to find out adequate contact information online: the general phone number is not working, no response on general email etc. I have now contact with the support staff of the resort, which has forwarded our case to another department - waiting for a response up till 14-18 WORKING days.
For a professional resort, this is really bad. I would therefore NOT recommend it.

Unfortunately, we only spent here 2 days, before heading home: this place is simply wonderful, fairy tail-like. We stayed in room 27, which is high up (so, if you walk, it is quite walk), beautifully situated and very large and spacy! While snorkeling, we saw small sharks, rays, squids and even a large see turtle. From the balcony of our room, we saw hornbills. It was amazing. There are two restaurants, both serving good food (although quite expensive!). However, as we attended the happy hour in the western style restaurant, where they give you the first round of drinks for free, I did not feel that we paid too much, in the end. All in all, we loved this place!

We felt completely looked-after from start to finish. The staff were all really friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
The bay is beautiful and the water crystal clear, very good for snorkeling.
The restaurants were both really good and the standard of food was great.
Our stay at Bunga Raya was the end of quite an active holiday and it was the perfect place to relax (although there were activities available if wanted).

This little place is heaven, on Gaya Island surrounded by the jungle with canopy walk ways canoes, paddle boards, snorkelling, zip line. There are two restaurants serving wonderful fresh food. The staff are polite and nothing is to much trouble. We had a beach pool villa, step out of the pool villa and you are on the beach. We saw hornbills flying around, monkeys a monitor lizard and a snake when we did the escorted jungle walk also lots of fish when we snorkelled. We stayed for six nights and felt fully recharged on leaving. All I can say is go its so beautiful, quiet and full of nature.
