Owner description: The falls, in the northern half of Yoho park, drop 833 ft -- making it one of the highest waterfalls in Canada. The falls are spectacular in early summer, when melting snow and ice provide ample runoff.

“Amazing on a Hot Day!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2014

What can I say about this amazing waterfall??

The driver to the waterfall takes your through an amazing piece of Canadian History with the old switch backs leading to a fantastic interesting drive. Also gives a unique view back towards the spiral tunnels.

The Waterfalls can be seen from the road leading to the parking lot and offer an amazing first glimpse of what the waterfall really is!! A must is walking to the base of the waterfalls to the giant rocks at the base but be forewarned that you will get wet due to the spray. If you are more adventurous than you can climb left side of the waterfall to base of the fall to feel it's full power as it falls to the rocks below. Be careful as it slippery and the water is powerful but worth doing!!

Further up the valley there are a few more waterfalls if you are willing to hike. I haven't done this hike yet so I will not comment but it is on my to do list!!!

Not alot to write aside from if you are in YOHO you would be a fool to miss this. Beautiful falls, tranquil scenery and perfect for pictures.

“Wow ! Breathtaking and loud ...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 January 2014 via mobile

We discovered by mistake but have to admit what a place !! The drive to the falls is very scenic and so are the actual falls . They are loud and majestic and everything you would want the second highest falls in the Rockies to be . If you have time do the ice line trail a well to see the glacier that feeds the falls !!

“Fantastic area for Hiking and Sightseeing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

This area is one of the Best in the Banff area for Hiking. There are many trails for day hikes or overnight trips. The Scenery is Spectacular. I hiked from Takakkaw Falls along the Yoho River to Laughing Falls, up to the Iceline via Celeste Lake, along Iceline to Yoho Pass and down to Emerald Lake. This is about a 23 km hike that passes many beautiful sights.

“Now This is a Waterfall”

So many of the waterfalls were a disappointment. But this one is worth the visit. This is a good place to spend a couple minutes.
