Owner description: The falls, in the northern half of Yoho park, drop 833 ft -- making it one of the highest waterfalls in Canada. The falls are spectacular in early summer, when melting snow and ice provide ample runoff.

On my 3rd visit to this area, the road was open after the winter, and we drove in to see it, It sure was worth the effort. We walked all the way to the bottom of the falls and could feel the shower from it. You feel very small standing in front of the impressive mountain wall.

Fun time and good walk. Very impressive to see this massive waterfall. Easy parking and a nice wal to see the fall. Plenty of great photo opportunies as you walk out.

In Cree, Takakkaw means It Is Magnificent. I can't add anymore. The falls are beyond description. It's a gentle walk so suitable for everyone. It's cool and wet the closer you get to the Falls as the mist sprays quite a distance

We picked the Takakkaw Falls as one of our brief stop on our driving trip around the Yoho National Park area. As the second tallest falls in Western Canada at a height of 1,260 ft., it looked spectacular from a distance. I believe if we got the time to negotiate our way closer to the falls, we would definitely be able to hear the water thundering down which must be an awesome experience.

There are a few winding roads to get to the falls but keep going, its worth it! The falls are brilliant, you can really close to the falls on the rocks and can get some stunning pictures.
