Okay so I wouldn't make plans to be here for the day but was nice for an hour or 2.
My 6yr old daughter is mad on butterflys so we went for her sake...she loved it.
Not too pricey to get in which is good considering how long you're there for. some pretty breeds of butterflys.
When we paid on entering the man said he'd come and show us some caterpillers but we waited and he never did come.

Birthday outing with adult daughter. Multi coloured butterflies in natural tropical environment, interesting and accessible information on free charts. Further questions answered enthusiastically by Peter. Butterflies, seemingly unafraid of humans, follow you around, occasionally landing on you. A wonderful experience for all ages - just wish we lived nearer!

We ate lunch next door,in Heather's Cafe - tasty food in a friendly atmosphere.

Enjoyed a lovely couple of hours at the Butterfly House with teens and older family members. Had fun searching for eggs, caterpillars and the butterflies were beautiful and abundant (spotted lots of Terrapins too)! Not a well known attraction but well worth a visit, especially on a wet summers day!
Also has a small shop selling good quality hand painted pictures, photographs and glassware. After tea and cake at the cafe next door we were able to return to take some stunning photographs.

I went to the Butterfly house with two children aged 3 and 18 months. Both the children were enthralled by the butterflies and caterpillars. There is a terrapin pond also that was a big hit with the children as they were able to feed them. The staff were very friendly and there was a staff member in the house to show you round and point out the emerging butterflies or new chrysalis.

There was a cafe next door that was a welcome break from the heat. You can return to the Butterfly house after a break.

Much enjoyed. Ideal for a peaceful but interesting morning/afternoon out.
