“Very nice day.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2014

Lovely spa very tranquil and nice facilities. Only downside is the maze like hike to the lounge bar from the swimming area. But apart from that my mother and I had a lovely day.

“Lovely spa break for hubby's 40th”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2014 via mobile

Stayed here for three nights just before easter weekend for my husband's 40th birthday and we were not disspointed. Staff were so friendly and location has a wow factor for sure! No problem parking and room perfect and clean. Only one snag when we booked a king size it is what they call a "Hilton king size" so if you are used to a king size like us bare this in mind. Their king size is only a bit bigger than a double. Very comfy though.
We booked dinner, bed and breakfast and were not disappointed. Food was devine! Big thanks to Max on the bar and restaurant, he made my husband's birthday special.
We were lucky with the weather and lovely after a day out to Bristol and western super mare to come back and have drinks on the hotel verander. Stunning views! Spa was great. Daughter loved the pool. Hubby had a massage which he loved and recommends. My daughter and I had nails done. Girls were lovely and we felt pampered.
We would definately stay here again. Lovely break. Thanks all at Doubletree xxx

“Average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2014

I booked a Spa day here, via "Groupon" for my birthday last month. Car park was very full. Pool was nice and I liked the fact there were 2 Jacuzzis, one large separate one and one within the pool shallow end. Whilst in the steam room the Maintenance Man came in to ask us if everything was o.k, which I thought was a nice touch. The lunch included in the deal was nice. Unless I missed them I could see no single cubicles to change in the women's changing rooms, it all appeared to be open plan, which, if like me you feel uncomfortable with, is not ideal.

“Don't book a groupon spa day !”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2014

My son bought me a spa day package here on groupon . This included lunch and a glass of bubbly, well I don't know what you expect from a spa day but it was a total rip off, the spa day includes use of the pool and sauna, that's it ! The pool was very busy and an instructor came in doing aqua fit, not the most relaxing thing lol I found other members of the club to be none too friendly and felt in their way in the changing room, so maybe spa guests should have their own area to change in so as not to get in the members way ? When we arrived we were given a menu and told to tick two boxes, which we did, although lunch was good, I was surprised my ciabatta only had chicken, one piece of bacon and one slice of Brie in it ! Not much considering how much my son paid, even on groupon ! When we paid our bill we were charged for our side salad, we said this was wrong, only to be told , no you ticked two boxes, we explained that's what we were told to do, oh more staff training is needed said the waitress ! I would not recommend a spa package here to anyone if you want a relaxing chill out day, and especially do not book it through groupon thinking you are getting a good deal !

“Good gym, nice swimming pool, but not a spa”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2014

Having had a voucher for a months membership of the gym and spa, I'm really pleased with the quality of the gym equipment, the friendly staff and the cleanliness of the place. But I do feel a bit sorry for the people who are there on a spa day. It's not a particularly relaxing place, especially by the pool - and although it's quality it's certainly not luxurious. The showers for example are clean, but the shower head and controls are very basic and not very enjoyable. Good for a workout, not so good for relaxing.
