We drove up the drive past the sports club to the main hotel where we couldn’t easily find the car park, which turned out to be a little further on by the new part of the building. Having parked we discovered that Reception was back up the hill, up a series of metal (might be slippery) steps dragging a suitcase behind me. Once at reception and having caught my breath the check in went smoothly with a promise that our 2 separate bookings had been consolidated and we’d have the same room for both nights.
Getting to the room was up the elevator to the new part of the hotel and a very lovely room. The view was nothing – a wooded bank, but inside it was great, with a comfortable bed, large screen TV and a bright clean bathroom with a powerful shower and quality toiletries.
Sadly the Vodafone mobile reception was nearly nil and the free WiFi lasted for a total of one hour per day. There was free WiFi in the public parts of the hotel, but to get more in the room was an astonishing £10 per day. We didn’t bother. Surely Hilton realise this should be inclusive these days?
We went out for the evening and found the security bar of our room door had activated itself by gravity meaning we had to get the hotel’s help to get back in. Worryingly we heard another guest complaining of the same problem later on.
We slept well, the heavy curtains keeping the light out, and the air conditioning running quietly. Breakfast was included for one night. It was very good with a good mix of cooked and cold items and with good coffee.
Next day after a day out we couldn't get back in our room till the key-card was reactivated, so no, they hadn't properly merged our 2 separate bookings into one.
On the first night we also used the swimming pool, gym etc down the hill at the sports club. The facilities were included in the room fee and were very good. Lighting was poor with signs written in orange making them virtually unreadable. The pool was big, the jacuzzi was great and the steam room was well worth the visit.
We'd stay here again, but they should improve the car parking/access issues urgently.

Heating not working in room - a small fan heater was provided! Was obviously a disabled room which we didn't ask for or want! The walk-in shower completely soaked the bathroom floor and water even ran under the bathroom door into the room. Very disappointing that we were not informed of the type of room we would be in!

Hello, I recently stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton, Cadbury House. The staff were friendly and helpful but unfortuantly our room was not ready till 15:15 (due at 15:00). When I asked reception if someone could fix our air-con we were simply given a mobile heater which was good to warm up the room, but obivously we couldn't leave the radiator on all night as it wasn't safe. I did get up in the night and the room was again cold. We didn't get our cookie on arrival as we had to wait in the bar whilst our room was cleaned. The next day breakfast was pricy but nice, which I'm always prepared to pay if the food is good which it was. I would require an incentive to stay in a Double tree again though

Nice welcome from reception and warm cookie on arrival.
Felt underwhelmed by the deluxe room I had booked but after settling in, realised it was missing a lot of the deluxe features promised. Mentioned it to Husband who told reception and said they would sort it out. My Husband said not tonight as I was resting. A knock on the door and I was woken up, got dressed, and met by 2 bottles of water and 2 robes.
Evening meal was OK. Sat in a private cubicle. The edges of the velvet seats deep with dust, the rim of the wood around them dusty too, the seat area covered in crumbs, I mean covered. Waiter clearing starters while we were eating our mains. Service charge 10%.
Back to room. Trollies filled with crockery being wheeled up and down outside our room which went on until 11.15. Hoovering as well in the corridor. At 3.45am woken by 2 people knocking our door and others ( our room was 203 just by the stairs so they got away) Half an hour later 2 staff outside our window having a chat and a fag. Trollies started again early. Thoroughly miserable night. Room not deluxe as paid for. Restaurant should have been excellent but wasn't.
