“Lovely country pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

We are fortunate to be able to walk across fields to reach the White Hart, and it's great to report a pub of this quality is so close by!
Lovely setting in Whelpley Hill: the pub is charming, cosy and compact - but has tables in front with patio heaters (operated by a push-button timer - a nice touch) and a garden at the back which is perfect on a sunny day.
Iain and his team are very friendly and efficient. The food is pretty good and very reasonable value for money; the beer selection is excellent.
The provision of board games and swingball for the children (and young at heart) is a nice touch - enough to keep them entertained without turning the pub into a wacky warehouse for kids!
Overall, a great find and well worth a visit.

“A Must Visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2014

We have just discovered this fantastic little pub tucked away in the countryside but very close to Bovingdon (Hemel Hempstead)...... the food is the best we have eaten out for a very long time, Ian and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the pub has a lovely cosy atmosphere. Its at the top of our list for must eat places and we know we will be returning again and again.

“Great value Sunday lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2014

We received a friendly welcome when we dropped in here for Sunday lunch. The pub is a fairly small country pub with a good sized garden and today they also had a plastic marquee type structure up as they had some stalls and music in there as it was bank holiday weekend.
There was a choice of 4 or 5 Sunday roasts and at £10 for a main including a pint, glass of wine or a soft drink it was a real bargain. Plenty of vegetables, meat and home made yorkshire pudding, needed a bit more gravy so will ask for extra next time.
As others have said, there are board games, outdoor games like large dominos and a swingball set in the garden, it has a relaxed, comfortable feel to the place and I am sure it will be very popular as more people hear about the warm welcome and good food. It is a good to find a local pub making a real effort to win customers over with true hospitality.

“Great food. Great service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2014 via mobile

We popped into the White Hart 2 days ago. It's a very lovely village pub, some care and attention has been given to bring this pub to life. Lots of activities seem to be planned for the summer months. Iain the host was very friendly, the food (both had burgers) was very nice. We had a game of dominos too. Will definitely be coming back.
