We can highly recommend this lovely building and it's lovely friendly staff.

We have just spent a couple of days at Prested Hall for a wedding.

The venue was booked exclusively for the wedding, with about 30 guests.

From the initial arrangements through to the arrangements on the day, the wedding proceeded without a hitch. All guests complemented on the venue, service, food and facilities.
The rooms were all clean, with fabulous facilities, good selection of teas and coffees, also each room had cafetiere’s and fresh ground coffee.
The bed were comfortable, with quality linen & bedding, the bathrooms were well appointed with quality towels and toiletries.
Being an old building it was subject to a few creaky noises, which only added to it’s charm.
The food was all well prepared & presented, with a good selection of local produce.

Service was faultless, with nothing being too much trouble for any of the staff. Guests left the odd item behind from a child spoon to mobile charger and the venue located both and forwarded them on to the guest.

Overall 10 out of 10.

Room Tip: Room 1 & The Dingel are honeymoon type rooms. Most rooms are large with King Size beds, a couple...

Stayed here with my partner for one night and had a lovely evening. Great value, modern clean bathroom, cute room although could do with being a little bigger. Food was lovely both dinner and breakfast and the staff were very friendly although there did seem a little lack of staff. Were able to provide us with items we'd forgot like toothpaste and razor for no cost. Would come back.

We first stayed at Prested Hall in July 2010 and now again in November 2011. It is so lovely there. The building is impressive, the staff could not be more friendly and helpful, the room lovely, the food excellent, all of which mean that it is excellent value for money.

Driving through the grounds of the hotel, we saw pheasants, partridges and squirrels. Only a few hundred yards from the busy A12 and it is like stepping into another world. The building is old and you will experience sloping floors and ceilings and hear lots of creaking floorboards. Real character - great atmosphere.

I am including a picture of the bedroom. If you have experienced anything better than this for under £100 per night (weekend rate) then I will be amazed. The bathroom was even more spectacular.

I cannot sing the praises of the hotel enough so you must visit it yourself to understand why I am so much of a fan.

Room Tip: Room 1 is especially nice.

We managed to book a 2 night stay at Prested Hall, after being badly let down by another establishment and checking out early, all we can say is that this must be the closest thing to heaven on earth. After turning into the magnificent driveway leading to the hotel we knew that there must be something special at the end and indeed there was. Upon opening the door to the hotel we were captivated by the hotel's charm, it absolutely oozes it, and the bar looked very inviting even before we checked in. Checking in was great, nice and simple and the receptionist made us feel very welcome indeed. The lounge area and library were absolutely stunning, character wood panelling wherever you looked, open fireplaces and so much character we wished we were staying for the year. Walking up the grand staircase to our suite we both had a feeling that things could not get better, how wrong we were, the bedroom was a dream and the comfort of the bed and pillows was to die for. The shower room was great, ultra clean and mega cosy towels, the loo was separate from the shower room which we thought was a great idea. The view from the bedroom's leaded windows was divine, from one were views over the lake and beyond and the other views over the gounds to the front and down the magnificent driveway. The grounds have some great nature trails and an abundent of wild life are everywhere to be seen. We have to say that after staying in all types of hotels over the world this one gave us the best nights sleep by far. The restaurant was marvellous, the food and ambeiance were a dream and the wine was superb. Gary, our waiter for the evening, looked after us with aplomb and nothing was too much trouble, we, after our wonderful dinner, eventually retiring to the peacefully quiet lounge area to enjoy our coffee's. Breakfast was a delight, an assortment of cereals, fruit juices, fruit, croissants, yoghurts were available from the buffet and a fantastic 'full english' all cooked to order, (the chef cooked my poached eggs to perfection). In all, one of the most enjoyable short break's we have ever experienced, made more enjoyable by all of the smart and attentive staff that looked after us during our stay. We can't wait to return and would say to anyone thinking of staying in the area who is looking for accommodation with character, charm, good food and wine, comfortable beds, wonderful rooms and great hospitality from great polite staff look no further than here. Oh, one negative, I didn't like the quiet background music in the dining room in the evening, some chill would go down much better, sorry.

Room Tip: Try and book the attic room, really quiet and it's got a seperate loung area aswell as great vie...

My partner and I stayed here for one night whislt on a travelling holiday, i have to say we wish that it could have been more. The drive was most impressive and set the tone for the rest of the Hotel. Upon arrival the receptionist was most helpful and informative whilst booking us in, took us to our room and offered to carry our bags. The large room (No 9) was full of period furniture, sumptuous fabrics and high quality bedding, there was also a large amount of fluffy towels awaiting us on a heated towel rail. Breakfast the next morning was slightly disappointing in that there was no museli on offer and very little choice of fresh fruit although the cooked breakfast was second to none.Perhaps the breakfast service need a little attention too. Would highly recommend to future travellers and will be retuning on our next trip south

This trip was booked mid week for a business trip I and a colleague were having to take. We choose the venue because of it's proximity of where we were visiting, the safe off road parking, and the fact it was geared up for business with wifi throughout the hotel etc...

Upon arrival we couldn't find a staff member anywhere. We waited a good 10 minutes and then went walk abouts and eventually found a kitchen porter who went and found the young guy who should have been manning the desk. We weren't greeted with any niceties and were rushed through the whole check in process. We weren't show where anything was and the guy who booked us in was a little lost as to where the rooms actually were (there are only 11) explaining the room numbers have all just been swapped over.

Nevertheless, the rooms were ok. Possibly slightly tired but clean, well equipped and the bathrooms were excellent. Noise wise - possibly one of the best hotels I've stayed in (quite unusual for me not to be woken by banging doors or noise outside).

Next door to the hotel is a sports centre/gym...this was brilliant and hotel guests get to use the facilities (machines were modern and better than my gym I pay £50p/m for at home!)

Evening dinner was excellent quality, worth far more than what was charged in all honesty. I commented to the waiter guy about how nice the Pate was and 5 minutes later he came out with written recipe instructions from the chef. Nice touch!

The bar was disappointing. After a hard day seeing nightmare clients I was really looking forward to a cold beer. Again, I was surprised at the very reasonable bar prices for a hotel (£3.50 pint San Miguel which is cheaper than my local by 80p!) However, when the barman (who was also the receptionist and the general go-fer that evening) eventually served me, I was told that San Miguel was off and he didn't have time to change the barrel but would do so in about 30 minutes. Hmmm.

Ok, so I had a bottle of beer, no biggie, and joined my colleague in the louge area so we could work on a presentation we were having to make early the next morning. When we tried to log onto the hotel's wifi network though we didn't get any signal, well, a very limited intermittant one anyway and some of our kit (ipads etc) couldn't get anything. We mentioned this to the receptionist/barman/waiter/gofer guy and he said 'there's nothing I can do about it'. Well, thanks for that pal, but that's why we booked your hotel and seemingly the same reason the other guests (who all seemed to be business visitors) also booked as I heard them later mention lack of wifi too. So we had no internet at all which really scuppered our plans of working into the night on a VERY important presentation the next day!!!

Breakfast next morning was excellent and again the waiter service was 1st class too.

All in all, it was worth the £75 p/room we paid on another booking website but I would have been a bit peeved it we'd paid full price of about £115 p/room. The sad thing is, is that with a little effort (mainly more staff and better wifi) this could be a really good 4*+ hotel rather than a slightly better than average 3*. One tip owners: don't advertise business services (or any services) if you can't provide them. A premier lodge would have been a better bet for us on this occasion.

Room Tip: They all seemed pretty good to be honest.

We were very upset to hear of your unsatisfactory experience both with your check-in and at the bar, and can assure you that these matters are being addressed by our General Manager. It goes without saying that this not the kind of welcome we expect from our staff – on the contrary, we receive many comments from guests about the warm welcome they have received and how particularly helpful our staff are. So this is very disappointing for you and for us. As for your Wi-Fi problems, we have been upgrading all our computers with new servers etc and, in the process, the internet has been very unreliable, causing intermittent problems for us and our guests. (As it happens, you would have had no problems had you and your colleague gone to The Club.) This whole matter is being slowly sorted, though we realise this doesn’t help you at all. We are really very sorry and can understand how frustrating it must have been. We do hope you will come again one day and have a wonderful stay with no hiccups.
