So your getting married and you have looked at lots of venues (just like us) choose the most outstanding Wedding Venue in Essex. Prested Hall. From the first meeting at a wedding fair, to the breakfast after our special day - everything was outstanding. Feedback from both of us and all of the wedding party, on Venue, Food, Accommodation, the Events Team, the way the whole 24 hours is tailor to you personally is truly outstanding. Jill can't say enough, Sometimes in life it takes special people to make things special and that's what you get at Prested Hall.
Absolutely stonking.......... Love Clive and Julie.....

Room Tip: We looked at all the rooms an couldn't fault one of them.

This hotel gets 3 stars from me, it would be 5 star but for the description of 'Disabled Room'.
The bath was high step-in and the ramp into the bathroom would have challenged a para-Olympian. I fear this ramp was the only modification they made to the ground floor room.
All in all a good hotel, good wedding and function facilities which won the praise of all the guest I spoke too. Some grumblings about hot water around breakfast time though. We had to go home grubby, there was no way in or out of that bath.

Room Tip: Disabled Guests beware..

As I have explained elsewhere, we had to create a "disabled" bedroom from the listed building we acquired. This is sometimes very difficult, and was.
It has always been our plan to build an extension which would contain full-blown disabled facilities to highest modern specs, converting this current bedroom into the front of house office we want and need. But until we manage to do this we are a bit stuck with what we have.
Hot water has sometimes been a problem recently as we were having a bio-mass boiler installed and the company went bust on us. But we'd like to think that is all sorted now.

The staff and facilities played a huge part in making my son's wedding day perfect. Everything was outstanding. The staff were very efficient and friendly and all food was delicious. We particularly appreciated the attention to detail, such as the midnight feast and champagne for the happy couple and our rosé petals everywhere! Everyone who stayed overnight were very happy with all the facilities.
And they even managed to arrange sun all day and the perfect temperature!!

Ok, so everyone's wedding day should seem awesome, but ours truly was great and a lot of that was down to Prested Hall.
We were only really starting to look at venues, but PH ticked all the boxes and some.
The price was very reasonable, especially since it included accommodation for most of my family and friends. Vicky, our coordinator, looked after things very well and was pretty much our maître d' for the day - enabled us to relax knowing she was keeping things smooth.
The building is very comfy and homely - lots of wood panels and sofas - perfect for guests to chat and relax. Also various rooms handled various functions well - dining, dancing, relaxing, chatting all had their own distinct yet nearby areas.
All-in-all I highly recommend Prested Hall as a wedding venue.
Oh, and the Dingle (a converted chapel on the grounds, but not attached to the main building) was an awesome 'get-away' at the end of the night. Someone even left us a tray of finger food in case we'd missed the buffet. Thanks!
Oh and I should add the nearby Sports Center Spa was very handy too. It had some additional accommodation and some guests turned up early and took the kids swimming. Nice.

This was my second experience of Prested Hall. My first had been as a secret shopper, and I was impressed enough to bring a group of colleagues for a week-long workshop / conference. The facilities could not have been better and the staff met our every request (some quite unusual) with politeness, enthusiasm and care. Many times during the week, they went the extra mile for us. We could not be more pleased with the service.

Room Tip: The apartments are very good value, cheaper than the rooms in the main hotel building. The single be...
